Right,

Insured my r6 in may last year & the insurance has only just ended a few weeks back, during this time the bike was written off in a non-fault accident which still hasn't been resolved even tho they paid out for my bike 2 weeks later.
How does this work then? Does this count as a claim on my behalf? Will i receive something in the post telling me i have no claims or..?
If the above does count as NCB then i was insured on two bikes at the same time so is it possible to have 2 years no claims even tho i've only been insured for a year.(Obviously if i don't claim on the Ninja till the insurance is up in Sept.)

Cheers.

It will vary depending on what you do.

I would expect that if you stay with the insurer they will allow the NCD but they do not have to. At present you have an unsettled claim, it is only once the claim is settled would your NCD be reinstated.

2 bikes on one insurance doesnt mean 2 individual no claims discounts at the end of it but again , you could maybe haggle with your current insurer to split them into separate policies with the 2 years on one bike and maybe their indroductory discount on the other. Again they dont have to but you can haggle.

Hi,

The bikes were on 2 different insurance policies so had nothing to do with each other, won't they bother emailing me of sending a letter to explain i have no claims then, which if i can get through the next few months i will have. Basically lies with the r6 then, once the claim is settled in my favour (pretty sure it will be) will the year i've been insured with Bennetts count as 1 years no claims then?

Your best bet is to wait for the renewal notices when they quote you for the next year and ask if you want to renew. On that will be the NCD applicable. This can also act as proof of NCD for the next company.

It is a NO CLAIM DISCOUNT.
If you claim you loose it.
Unless:
You have protected your no claims bonus by paying an extra premium.
You recover your 'uninsured loss'. In effect this more or less means the person who accepts responibility for claim pays your excess.

Ah right, well i'll just wait & see what happens with the claim as they said if they don't hear from the other company they'll threaten court action, & this was last month..

What will happen mate is you'll get your renewal through, and if it hasn't been resolved your NCD will still be accounted for.

However when it is resolved, only your premium for next year will be affected.

Their not allowed to change prices on agreed annual policies.

So.. You still going to have your NCD right now.
