Depends on what you want done. If you want a custom job with 3 or 4 different paints then you're looking at £1k, if you just want a single colour job with decals then £450-£500

theres a few places near me that do just bike paint work

one charges £850 for a full bike no matter what it is with the exception of airbrush work

and there is another guy who charges between 500 - 700 depending on what you want

best thing to do is pick what you want then find a place that will do it at a reasonable price

Shop around.

Up here at the various technical colleges you can leave it with students who will do it free

How bad it will turn out is a different thing Laughing

find a couple of places that will do the spray job for you and ask if you do most of the prep work yourself ie. rub it down ect how much that would cost then, some times if its just a blow over all they need is for the surface to be rubbed back and not a full prep.

If you were any were near me I would do it for the cost of the paint + £10 , the paint would only come to around £25 for the whole bike.

So just find some one that will do it at mates rates.

A mate of mine got a complete respray for £300

Removed all the panels and prepared them himself which saved a bit.

If you're anywhere near Reading I'll give you the number.

Well I'm not surprised it only cost him £300 if he did all of the stripping/refitting and the prep work himself. That is the most labour intensive part of the job. The actual spraying of the panels is quite a quick task and £300 will easily cover the few hours it takes to spray them and the cost of paint/materials. The only thing that you have to remember is that the finished job will only ever be as good as the quality of the prep work, so if that isn't right, the finished article will never be 100%.
