 |
|
Ok well basically when i stop at lights i usually sit in first with the clutch in.....i prefer it.
My dad said your meant to sit in neutral otherwise you'll wear the clutch down, but ive got bit of a clunky gearbox and by the time i've got the thing into neutral im off.
Just wondering if it does wear the clutch down and how quickly.....also does anyone else sit in gear?
Thanks, Jack ____________________ |--Previous--|:2007 Aprilia SX50... --Current--|: 2007 Kawasaki ER-6N

Yes it does wear the clutch , so if possible get it out of gear, also holding it on the clutch will increase you chances of getting cramp in your hands.

Jamie,I think it is a 50 cc so no cramp.
Try a 996 and you will get out of gear before the lights.WRIST.

cheers guys Yeh it is a 50, everything is fine with the gear box it's just not as smooth as some bigger bikes like 125's i've been on. I'll practice getting inot neutral then, i guess once i start doing it the sooner it will become second nature.
Once again, thanks guys

ok, not a heavy clutch so thats the end of that argument.
I've started putting it inot neutral now, it's a pain in the arse sometimes though.

I had no idea holding in the clutch would wear it down, if im stuck at traffic lights for a while ill stick it in neutral from now on. ____________________ My Bike Pics |
