electrics on a goose

anybody got any ideas about these (uses the 1991 dr350 engine)
no spark at the plug (changed numerous times and still no spark)
battery charged
cdi changed
good earth
wires have continuity
coil is tested
pickups seem okay

anything else to check or any ideas?

Sounds very similar to what happened to mine. Stopped to pick up a pizza one day, got back on the bike, no spark.

I did more or less everything you've done.

I eventually cured the problem by replacing the whole generator assembly iirc... Or the pick-ups, wiring and the copper wirey bit of the generator at least.

The hardest part was finding a Goose generator in a breakers yard. Took a couple of months. Sad However, this was maybe seven years ago so there were precious few Gooses around compared to today hence spares were few and far between.

*edit* Although as Garth said, HT lead might be worth a check if you haven't already done it, before you start pulling the poor things wiring out.

did previously break down, changed the casings with the pickups and it worked fine. thanks for the help, hopefully ill be able to have a fiddle and get it going again
