Anyone fitted one of these to a GPZ500S? FactoryPro do a 5degree ignition advancer and I'm curious about what affect it has on this bike in particular. I know sagalout has one on his ZX9R (but a 4 degree one) and it has increased the low RPM power substantially.

If you do, let me know how it went.

I'd worry about that mod fucking up the airbox pressure waves and killing the top-end 'woosh' which is what makes them a fun bike to ride.

i did an advance on my gs500 ?(i know not the same bikes)
and i found it gave me a bit more power up top, but took power from down low.
to me it seemed like a bit of a play off, and ended up going back to original timing.

Advancing the spark at low revs is detrimental to power (and big ends) but at very high revs will make a difference although it may shorten engine life.
Modern bikes have auto advance retard (My Ariels are manual) If you are going to use the bike on the track I can see a reason for doing so but for general use no.
