Can someone post a link or tips on how to paint with a pressure gun? I've heard it's rather difficult. Thanks

So none of you actually know then? Wink
Once you have the right mixture for the paint, this varies from paint to paint, and have setup the spray gun with the righ air/paint mixture it is relatively easy. You have to take it very slowly though as the paint will easily gather and drip.
Lots of light coats will give the best result.
Some people recommend sanding after complete coats but I've not tried it yet.

Cheers

I'm 100% newb to this mixing business etc. I've heard of motorized guns that don't need a compressor.. Yay or nay?

Nay to electric. HVLP Gun is probably the easiest to use. Just got to make sure you have a large enough compressor, decent lines and if you are using the quick release connections they are really poor by restricting airflow, even the top quality ones. We normally change them every week to be sure but thats not neccesary only if you are spraying 9 hrs a day 6 days a week.
The best thing is to understand the gun, how to set it up for width of spray etc. you want as wide a spray pattern as you can get it.
The High volume low pressure guns are best and relatively cheap. Also make sure the you regulate to correct amount of air through to the gun as you dont want too little or to much.
You will need atleast two guns, one suction feed for the primer, and one gravity feed for the paint. You can then decided which to clean and use for the laquer.
I would rub down between coats with wet and dry, wipe over with diluted spirits. Then the next coat and so on. After you are happy with the final coat Dont rub down, let to dry and then start with the laquer coars. 3-8 coats on tanks etc 3-5 on panels. If adding decals add after 4 coats and do 4 more. This gives the best definition and shine to the paint.
Dont spray to much at once, overspray is a real pain and will knacker your arms with all the rubbing down and flating you will have to do.
Test out the gun as much as poss on a test tank, or even just some white printer paper to get a feel for it. Most of all dont be afraid of it. You can ruin it, if it goes terrible wrong you can rub down and start again.

Just remeber if the pressure is too low it will go on but will orange peel very quickly.
