Posted: 00:27 - 30 May 2007 Post subject: 600 Owners Can you Power Wheelie?? |
 |
|
Im trying to learn basic wheelies (for off road purposes ofcourse), firstly trying to power wheelie in 1st, my front end hardly comes up, before i know it ive hit redline and im doing 70
So the question is, how many 600 owners can power wheelie with ease?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmduaIjSDjc
If you watch this video, you'll see the 636 lift with ease, my bike will hardly lift at that speed, they dont tell you anything about body position, am I suppose to lean back abit (which to be honest doesnt sound easy at all)
any wheelie experts in the house? |

I have 600 Bandit, and have beem told its not easy to wheelie these.
Ive tryed power ones, but just felt the front end get light - thats it.
I dont think I have the gutz to try a clutch one.
Seen a few vids of a 600 bandit wheelie, looks so easy - But, no matter what I try, I just cant |

My SV doesnt want to power wheelie, i ahve leant back yanked on the handle bars and wacked it open in first and it only to be doing 52 very quickly and the weight going of the suspension.
I am learning to clutch mine, can get it up just not keep it up ( story of my life ) lol not really story of my life, honest
Hopefully i will improve soon, if you have supersports 600 it should be easy to power wheelie. ____________________ My Bike Pics |

My Bandit 600 S (1996) is quite capable of pulling off fast, and most of the time the front only gets a bit light, with no lift. I watched the same video the other week and took my bike to a local private stretch of road and gave the clutch a quick squeeze as I cruised at 20 in first - revs rose to about 8k and the front end came up about 3 foot then eased down again!! Great fun and shows the kick that the 600 bikes have.
Worth a try but be careful cause it comes up quickly and needs to be put down gently.
Be safe, have fun! ____________________ C̶u̶r̶r̶e̶n̶t̶ ̶b̶i̶k̶e̶ ̶-̶ ̶B̶a̶n̶d̶i̶t̶ ̶6̶5̶0̶s̶ ̶

My 636 would lift just by opening the throttle, and other 600's I've ridden will come up with a quick snap even my old jellymould cbr.
Try riding along, accelerating to 5-6k and closing the throttle slightly then sharply opening it right up. Wheel should lift smoothly. You should at least feel it come up slightly, then its just a question of timing, and body position. Try sitting back in the seat as if you were on a supermoto, with arms straight
Clutching is the best technique ____________________ TL1000s, KDX200 |

most will wheelie, you have to get it at the right rpm, and get used to snaping the throttle, i often find a pulling on the bars helps Alot, but most 600's wont need it.
yes i can do it, rather clutch it, feels more controled. ____________________ Current : 06 Zx10r, 07 Wr450f SM, 74 850 norton commando, 63 bsa b40, 1962 Triton 650, 67 Triumph Tr6r, 1955 Triton 750, 1978 TY250E. |

but im on a litre so thats maybe why.
