I've been really tempted to get myself an abba stand. I'm getting fed up gambling on using the paddock stand on my own, even when the bike is left on it I'm nervous.

They're just shy of £100 direct. Ebay isn't really any cheaper, They're going for £60-£70, add on postage and fitting kit and it comes to the same price for a new one.
Is there anywhere else that does them ? Even to save a tenner, or are there any alternative products that do the same job ?

Also, should I get one ? At £100 it's pretty steep but do the advantages over a paddock stand justify the cost ?

I bought one as the NC30 has a single swingarm and the single paddock stands were approaching that price anyway and the ABBA is going to be more versitile in the future. I don't think you'll have much luck finding one for cheap, I looked around and in the end got one direct from Abba for peice of mind.

I can't knock it though, it's bloody stable, easy to use and makes working on the bike much easier. I use mine all the time, from cleaning, oiling the chain, and clueless fettling:

Short answer is, just get one. It'll last you forever and other than a few quid for new adapters it'll be suitable for just about any bike you'll ever own. If you can find one on ebay which comes with the right adapters and it saves a few quid then go for that but bear in mind that if you get one with the wrong adapters then buying those'll set you back a further £15.

yep best stand ever IMO

iv got a BLUE one! Razz (rare)

also iv got the normal adaptors + the swingarm removal adaptors which are actually better to get instead of the adaptors for the specific bike, cause they fit EVERY bike via 1 of the rearset's bolts

N30, you seem to use yours a bit differently to the rest of us - facing the other way?

I noticed that... At first I thought I'd just got mixed up because it was from a different angle but after a 2nd look I decided I didn't know what was going on!

Dunno if I'm selling it yet !!! Razz

It's quite an old one Colin, Micron I think. Would do with a rub down and spray with Hammerite or similar. It has hooks on it at the moment, the pads will probalbly be lying around somewhere.
It's also a front headstock stand, not sure if all the bits are still around, I'll need to have a look around the shed.

It may or may not look like this when set up. Laughing

If you look at it you can see the rear stand. The top part of it adds on so you also have a front stand. 2 for the price of 1. Idea

Ah, clever! Well if you do want to sell I could do with a stand. Will also give me an excuse to take the misses a wee drive to the seaside!
