Car/Bike... erm...

Hey all,

I know ive been on about getting a car or bike a lot, but i really am confused i wondered if you all could help me solve it once and for all, especially those with cars as well as bikes. ( I would do that too but i dont have too much cash)

Now i know the car is more practical although expensive,
and the bike is less practical but cheaper. Now the idea of having a bike with all it's curves and attitude appeals to me a lot.
But then warmth and the point that i can tune up a car a hell of a lot, especially the mitsubishi colt, the car i'l get if i dont get a bike.

And then! I have a leg injury which messed up my hamstring which means stopping in a car would be difficult but on a bike it's cool cause i can just push my foot down for the brake.



If u guys can help me decide, i promise i wont bother you abou this again!

You've got to think really seriously what you want transport for. I'm lucky in that I have a car and a bike. I couldn't do without my car, I play the violin and simply can't carry it on my bike (physically + my instrument insurance is invalidated). Also bikes aren't very practical when it comes to running Auntie Doris down to the hospital. But if it's just for you and you don't intend to be carrying anything bulky, get the bike, it's cheaper to run, more fun and you'll be thankful in the summer when everyone is stuffed inside their sardine tins sweating away in the endless queues of traffic.

And besides when you've got a bike on the road, you might find that you could possibly afford to run a car as well (though probably only a shed like mine).

Now i really want the bike, and car would be cool... I'm meant to be getting a Ford fiesta in a weel or 2 to fuck around in until i get my full license in April. I was planning then to get me the mitubishi colt.
However, fuck it... I'l get me the fiesta which is dirt cheap to insure and then in April, get me the NSR. I may not have style with the fiesta but i'l turn it into a rock mobile.. put flames on the side, i silly sound sytem, something outta waynes world.

I have also got a car and a bike and they are usefull for different things. Summer is on the way so i think its worth getting the bike, its alot more fun in the summer than in the wet and cold of winter. I would get the bike if i were you mate

I have a mini cooper and a nsr (sounds stupid when u see ime 6'3'')!!!!! Buy the bike now, its coming up to summer, and then if it does get too chilly to ride it round winter you could change it for a car. If you live in a town and dont go far go for the bike, otherwise in the winter youll freeze your nuts off(i know, i used to ride 20 miles each day in december).

It'll be nice to fix up a car but a bikes more free!

Hi,

Now it's pretty cool that ive decided to get a bike... however i plan to ride around for a month, get it derestricted then chill out, learn to surf in cornwall and wot not!

However, the winter will be on it's way and i shall be freezing! What winter overalls do u guys wear and do they keep u warm?

I've got a Teknic armoured 3/4 length jacket, it's kept me warm & dry in really nasty winter rain... pretty cheap at about £130 as well.

Well this was a suprise,

A friend of ours has just givin me a Nissan Micra... however i refuse to be shakin i will have motorbike too! In a way i'm fortunate, but now i have to pay insurance on two vehicles not one...

This Micra aint bad, it's an old one and looks like something outta waynes world... i shall recreate it as.... The Rock Mobile...

I got a frank thomas aqua for £25, reduced from £250. Wait till the middle of summer then buy your jacket, theyll be a lot cheaper then!! That keeps me warm all year round, but my trousers are muck and i get really wet legs!!!

i have a £1200 debt to my dad for a school trip to south America, i want to get a bike by July at the latest. Can someone give me prices or advice as to how i could buy a bike within 4 months and still pay off my dad

Listen i told you finance is our friend... it's the only way u and me will afford it. Just get ure bro to sort out the finance if ure dad wont...
And it would be a lot better if you brought this up in a new topic in general chat, that way u'd get more replies...

My bro is trying to convince me to keep the car... He's giving me the whole if i have a bad accident that could be my flying career over... :o
