The insurance for a zxr400 and a zx6r are the same £600 Laughing
but witch bike would be a better ride with a 33bhp kit Confused

The 400s are harded to come by and the 600 makes a better noise Wink
what the bhp for each? all i could get was PS

ZX6r 113ps 173Kg
zxr400 65ps 162Kg

Cheers guys Mr. Green

Depends what you want to use it for - no doubt the 400 is great fun if you intend to just use it for weekend blasts but if you want something a bit more comfy for commuting and long distances go for the zx6!! Laughing

Well, you can quess what I'd go for
<-------
I feel a bit uncomfortable on a 400 and I wanted a b ike for general riding as well as thrashing so I went for the 6 (and very nice it is too)

To convert from PS to bhp you take off a bit (okay not very technical), I think the 400 has got about 57 bhp

PostPosted: 10:50 - 17 May 2002    Post subject: best for restricting to 33bhp? Reply with quote

You dont mean you will actually be leaving the 33bhp do you?

If you are then i dont think it would do a 113bhp ZX6R much good to leave it with a 3rd of its power. Been told doing that buggers bikes up..Shed any light on that one keith?

If you are going to stick to the 33bhp laws for the 2 years why not get a bike with less power? But for the record i think restrictors are best kept in draws rarther than carbs..Long as you've got the certificate the police will be non the wiser

Theres loads of 400 about, you dont need to worry bout that.

If you are gonna stick to 33bjp then go with the 400, otherwise go with whichever you prefer.

I would've thought the 600 would be better with 33hp restrictors... because it's more tourquey you'll getter better 'drive' and it'll be a little more friendly.

would nt the 600 be slower as it would have the same power as the restricted 400 but would be dragging about more weight (POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO) Rolling Eyes

The weight difference isn't that significant and the 6 will have more low down tourque which means more power will be available to you more of the time.

But restricting a bike down to 33 can really fuck itspower delivery, and ive also heard that it can damage the engine.
on the 400 it wuld be a smaller change so it wouldnt be as major.

Or, get a zx6 restricted then take the restrictors out. That way youve still got the power the bike was designed for and youve got the restriction certificate. Best of both worlds Twisted Evil

8) and if you were realy unlucky and the old bill asked you to bring in your bike to be tested you could just wack the restrictors in place. theyd never know
