Just to introduce myself...

Hi all, I've just passed my da, and I'm purchasing my first "big bike". A Yamaha fzr 600. I know very little about bikes, although I am a car mechanic and have been for 16 years. So I hope to share comments and stuff. Oh while I'm speaking about this bike, does anyone know of any known common faults with said bike? It's a 1999 T plate, with 16k on the clock.

Thanks everyone, as I said, I'm new to all this, but i'm sure you lot will get me upto speed very quickly. It only took really just over a day to pass my practical, I was as nervous as hell, (in fact more nervous than when I got married). I really don't want to be put through that again. Just one thing I can't get my head round.... I started out with a xt125r, the insurance was £190 tpft, and my new bike will be £145 tpft. And it's over four times bigger. so just cos I passed my test the price drops? Wish it was like that for car insurance!
