Hey I've just got a new bike, and it was filled out on my behalf (I signed though). Long story short,

The V5C new keepers slip has my name incorrectly displayed, and the seller has gone away with my name misspelled na dposted the v5 back to the DVLA for change of ownership.

The slight misspelling of my name is Johnathan, instead of Jonathan.

Can't I just wait for the V5 to come through to my address, then correct the misspelled name?

Also as I need to get the vehicle taxed, can I just use something to delete the H in my name on the V10 and the V5C slip thingy, so I can get it taxed..

Any help regarding this ASAP please. Thanks!

I very much doubt that the blue rinse in the PO will even notice.

Wait for the V5 to return, get the tax and then amend the details and send back to Swansea.

So it's not exactly a "critical" problem that needs addressing right this minute? I was thinking about shoving my hand down the post box to get it out....

So wait, to get this straight, to get the thing taxed I need the tax form (v10 or something), the Section 10 slip thing from the V5C/4 (or was it 3 I can't remember), and what else do I need?

I Just go down to the post office, show them the things and should I just explain to them that it's a mispelled LETTER in my name. Just 1 damn letter, or should I delete the thing. I don't want to end up breaking the law, tbh.

No its not critical. For tax you need the MOT (if bike is over 3 years old), insurance certificate and the tear off slip from the V5. Don't worry about the spelling of your forename.

There shouldn't be a problem it's a minor spelling mistake i doubt they'll even notice. My insurance docs had my name spelt differently from my V5 and i didn't have any problems getting the bike taxed.

Tax the bike then send the docs back to get them corrected.

I went down to the post office yesterday with my little green slip and my insurance certificate, she scanned the green slip, checked my certificate and gave me a tax disc - Didn't ask me to fill in any other forms.
