down we went!

There was a line of stationary traffic around a roundabout and upto a set of traffic lights way ahead.

As i picked my way round the roundabout and intending to overtake the stationary line of cars the second car after the roundabout did the "u" turn without first looking.

Iwas doing no more than 5mph and she was stationary until her mother said why don't you do a "u" turn and go the other way!

Made a nice mess of the car before being thrown to the ground as we bounced off.

I say we cos Cog Head was my pillion. The bike has only suffered cosmetic damage and i was able to ride home safely (98 miles).

The bike will probably be a write off due to the plastics being damaged, bent front and rear brake lever(still ok to use) both footpegs fractured but still on the bike and ok, off side engine casing damaged along with fairing lower panel, indicator lense dislodged, near side fairing has deep VW Golf rash, exhaust with gravel rash plus the kit we were wearing!

I feel ok apart from slight pain from hip and knee which took the impact from the car. Standard CE armour is there fore a reason guy's.

Cog Head seems to be stiffening up by the hour, he gave me a good bang of the helmets as he came forwards and then landed on top of me on the floor. He's probable going to have whip lash from holding onto the grab rail.

The woman said she didn't there was the need for the barrage of verbal abuse as we both simultaneousely began verbal abuse in her direction!

She has admitted liability and the guy behind her came forward as a whitness.

Sorry for the long post but i think that covers it!

verbal abuse might not have been necassary, but neither was deciding that because no traffic had passed her recently that she needn't bother looking before swerving out into the road.

Then she goes home and the husband tells her it wasn't her fault, so she'll change her plea (and her story).

You should have called the police to attend, but it's too late now. You should still report it, as she will, but her version may be materially different from yours. Hope you've got the witness's details to pass on to the insurance company.

Both of you should seek medical advice (and medication) asap; injuries may take several days to become apparent, so get checked out before you're too stiff to get out of bed. You'll need to advise your insurance company of any personal injury, too. Keep a log of how you are, what you can no longer do around the house, can you go to work (lost earnings), etc. The third party's insurance company may insist you attend an independent GP, and that's the kind of thing they'll need to know. I was asked how long it took before I could do any vacuuming or ironing!

Have a look here for useful case law on filtering, and as your luck would have it, a car doing a U-turn into an overtaking bike.

destroy them insurance wise,

I'm starting to think that give the opportunity of braking super hard and coming off and going into the side of them , you should go into the side of them and get police attendance at ALL costs ,

AND ALWAYS carry a disposible camera , these things are better as evidence than phone cameras which the defence can say have been photoshopped.

Did you call the Police? All accidents where someone is injured by law must be attended by the police, it will help with the insurance claim as well.

Absolutely. I buy them from poundland wrap them in shrink wrap and put them on each of the bikes and in the cars along with pen, paper and a list of questions. Not only is it good evidence and a reminder of what happened but it also tends to freak out the other person if they haven't got a camera.

unlucky mate. glad you are both ok though.

reminds me when i was on the back of the old mans blackbird on a single carriageway doing id say about 60mph when some numpty decided to slam on the brakes and u-turn Shocked luckily my dad is well experienced and was already keeping his distance so we didnt crash into him. just amazes me how people can be so stupid on the roads. can you imagine if we had hit him at that speed?? probably would be writing this post right now.

nah I said disposible camera for a purpose,

electronic pictures can be modified, a parking attendant in bury was caught photoshopping 10000s of evidence photos, also a disposible camera gives an effect mega pixel of 10-15 million mega pix which is a darn sight more than the 3.2mp camera I have.

Precisely.

Either her husband, or her insurance company will change the plea before you can blink.

And if you do....
I can't remember saying that... Are you sure you were not suffering from shock.

I think the main thing in any crash like this, where the other party is clearly at fault.... Call the police....
There is a dam good chance the driver will be done for DCA and if they do admit fault, they then cannot go back on it.
