Dont want a 125 since they just ant got umph ( not like my rs 125 anyways )

Yea, Im not saying 125s ant fast, just that my rs is starting to bore me now, And 125s are annoying due to the ammount of rebuilding, ect. I just want a reasonable sized 4 stroke that I can fuck around on and not worrie to much about smashing the farings up.

Like the sound of this DRZ-400, 0-60 in under 4 secs? thats fucking fast.

Out of interest, what does the duke do 0-60 in? Ive heard there really fast ( helps when they got a 640cc engine mind.. .)

Yeah, the DRZ-400 sm managed a 3.7 second run to 60 on a video i was watching, The Duke should run somewhere in the low 3s, they have more power but are heavier, very quick still though, and have more of a top end.

If a drz-400 can do that, what can a KTM 660SM with its
Weight kept to a minimum by kick-start only and weighing in around 135kg, with around 65bhp+ on tap

If you want a serious modern supermoto, get a Husaberg650 and stick a 750cc bore kit on:

However even the standard ones are quite high maintenance and you'd probably be faster on the 550 even if you're pretty damn skilled at it.

Baller, note that these bikes are going to be limited by the front wheel coming up for a lot of them - the comp spec ones tend to be a lot lighter (110kg or so) and possibly a bit higher - so extra power doesn't make a big difference at slower speeds.

If this is an 'only' bike, then one of the heavier KTMs would probably make a good choice if you want a non-jap bike.
If you don't mind spending lots of money maintaining a weekend toy, something like an 04 Husaberg (more reliable from 04 on) has a dry weight of 112kg or so and plenty of power (go for the 550) with decent suspension and a 'leccy boot that works.
My 02 501 will wheelie off the power in third and is very, very chuckable if you try, despite the avon on the front.

The CCM 640's are about the fastest out their (sportsbike beaters apparently). My Duke was very quick up to a tun and was a wheelie don!

Both the CCM and Duke are pretty heavy compared to the comp spec bikes like the Husaberg and lighter KTMs (525) etc, never mind a converted crosser.

For an off the peg bike i'd probably say the KTM690SM. The competition orientated SM's just are not nice or practical enough for road use and are a little fragile. If i wanted a really trick powerful SM, id go for a 2stroke MX conversion, as a 250 or better still a 500cc 2stroke MX bike will easily outlast some heavily tuned big thumpers between re-builds, and it would be far quicker and cheaper to re-build the 2stroke too.

As far as specials go, then i couldn't pick one. I hope my KMX200 will be fun, if it stays at around 100kg dry, and puts out around 35-38bhp, then that is a reasonable power to weight ratio i would say.

I've always wanted a TDR250 with a 350YPVS lump, or to build a trick TDR400 using a stroked crank and DT200R barrels etc, which im sure has been done a few times, but it's not simple.

In an old edition of Supermoto magazine, there was a DR800 Big, with an RG500 square four engine grafted in. The look of the four spannies, two of which were exiting above the tail unit looked so cool! 75bhp+ at the rear wheel from a reliable enough standard engine is cool too, and 100bhp r/w being in easy reach with a few tweaks!
