Currently bored in work and thinking about the bike.
Mostly about why I want to be on it right now and other stuff that's bugging me about it.
Just wondering, as the title says, about everyone else experience on bikes.
Small things that stick in your mind that has you grinning like a loon or a memory alone that makes you cringe
My worst cringe, and probably dangerous, was a week or so after doing my CBT.
Was going down the road towards a set of traffic lights and saw another biker (sports bike) he gave me a a nod which made me feel quite proud, but also distracted me.
I ended up going into a lane which was for oncoming traffic
Luckily was late at night so no cars.
But the guy in a car by the biker yelling at me 'Your in the wrong lane' was the icing on the cake. As if I didn't know I was in the wrong lane! (I was turning the bike around when he started yelling at me)
Don't think I've ever been more embarrased in my life
I like to think I've improved somewhat since then. |

A few weeks after I passed my CBT too. Was going to my ex-girlfriends house at night and there's a road which is quite twisty and lots of blind bends. Can't remember what the road is called but it's on the way to Thame from Longwick. Anyways I just entered that road when I come up to the first right hand turn and there's a hedge so I can't see anything over. I can however see a car's headlights on full beam and as he turned the corner just before I did I got full whack of the lights and it blinded me. Closed my eyes and then opened them again. Saw I was going straight instead of turning right and hit the ditch. I just closed my eyes thought "oh fuck". As the front wheel hit the ditch I sort of did a superman over the bars. Got straight up and picked up the bike. Not much damage so no biggy.
It kinda taught me to actually do something instead of just think "oh fuck" and crash. Like when I took a corner too fast on the Hornet sometime in March.

THE BAD
Just a few months ago, riding in to work in the rain and strong wind, when a woman in a hatchback car pulled out of a junction on my left, apparently intending to go diagonally across the road to another juction to the right.
Well, dealing with the cross wind was somewhat distracting, plus the wet conditions etc. The basic result was that I braked too hard for the conditions, locked and slid the back wheel around to my right, but thankfully managed to steer the front around to the left, and avoid a t-bone into the car.
I was still shaking like a leaf, and apparently still ashen faced when I arrived at work a few minutes later.
(Just as a coincidence a Police biker apparently came off his bike in the same place just this Tuesday )
THE GOOD
Just this morning, pulled up to a set of lights right behing an Aston Martin Vantage... especially as I know there's some NSL road about 100 yards ahead
I wasn't trying to race, honest occifer, I just wanted to keep up with him. Well I kept a constant (safe) distance off his rear bumper from the line, up to about 70mph, and stayed with him for a mile or two.
And the one thing that crossed my mind was that "this isn't too bad considering I only paid £400 for my ride"
...AND THE UGLY? ...just me ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

The bad: The time when an old lady thought she’d pull into the junction to see what’s coming because the white transit was blocking her path. It was me that was coming, doing over 55mph.
The good: I got 4 female admirers and one shag (when I could move properly again) because they witnessed the accident.
Edit:- I've just realised how odd that is ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

The bad...
Getting knocked off my RS125 by some cock who was trying to stop me from filtering past him, luckily I had no major injuries, was gutting though as I'd only had the bike 2 weeks.
The good..
Going into a corner in wales on my GSXR600, knee straight down then realising the corner is tighetening, lift the knee and lean further, it goes straight back down so I hold it down and lean further! The back end steps out somehow turning me into the corner just enough to nake it out, later realised it was the exhaust touching down that made the rear slide, if only there was some onlookers they would've thought I was Rossi. |

The good:
Riding through the Loire valley on a lovely sunny day, accompanied by 2 french bike cops out for a hoon.
The bad:
Going into a roundabout way too hot and feeling that awful sensation as the front wheel starts to slide and wash out, whilst accompanied by 2 french bike cops.
The very good:
Riding through the slide and coming out of the roundabout feeling like Rossi, accompanied by 2 french bike cops thinking 'Zees crazy Anglais, 'ee 'ees ze riding god!' ____________________ Space Monkey #7
