I hope this is the right place to put this.

I'd like to send a message to the noisey silver ped with the stupid aftermarket exhaust that does nothing to improve the speed but only annoys everyone you drive past (very slowly) on your way to school, wearing the black jacket with fur lined hood.

You're annoying a lot of people in the area with such a loud "bike" which is surely illegal because it's so flippin loud. We're not talking meaty bike sound we're talking a whole nest of angry wasps, the sound literally fills your head & everyone cringes when you drive past. Perhaps we could endure this noise if you moved faster however it's obviously a 50cc (as you're attending Nower Hill High School so you must be 16) which get's overtaken by snails so do everyone a favour & put the original exhaust back on & stop making everyone want to open their car door in front of you while you're riding along (yes the neighbours have told me they're tempted to take such drastic measures - while I don't agree with this method I do understand their anger & frustration)!

I ride a bike & have had our neighbours often complain to me thinking it's my bike making the racket, fortunately they restrain their dogs & conceal their baseball bats when I start up my bike & show them my bike (500cc) is considerably quiet.

To all you moped riders out there waiting to have a go at me for posting this, I'm not ranting about mopeds, I think they're practicle & part of the process that young riders have to go through (I too rode a 125cc) but it's not necessary to make a pain of yourself & upset the local community almost certainly turning them against motorcyclists in general because you thought it was clever to fit a loud exhaust which serves no purpose other than to make noise!

In a time where everyone who doesn't ride a motorcycle of some kind (mopeds included) seems intent on getting us riders off the road or at least to make life as difficult as possible for us, lets not give them a reason to complain!

I know what you mean. There's a bloke who works on this street who has a 2-stroke 50 with a straightpipe on it. You can hear him from half a mile away.

Well I don't want to so it can't be everyone. If someone told me they were planning to open their door on someone I would be quite happy to rip the door off their car and make them eat it. Consider it similar to 'next time your dog barks I'm going to slit its throat'.

Isn't that what all 16 year old do?

In other words, bend over and take it boy.

Be helpful, buy your neighbours earplugs, solves all their problems.

No!

Why not just have a polite word with him and tell him to put the normal exhaust back on his ped?

Nah, I was generalising, imo all teenagers make noise, with or without bikes, its the only thing they exist for Laughing

How would you react if someone asked you to refit the original exhaust? I'm sure it would go on the list of things to do Rolling Eyes

I'll try to have a word with him, I know I'm going to get a load of lip from this guy & I pray he keeps his helmet on because it'll help me resist from adjusting his front teeth, but who know's may he'll listen to me voicing the local community's opinion? Laughing yeah right!

I was just hoping for the best. I thought it kinder to post a message on here instead of trying to get him to pull over or follow him home to have a chat.

I know bikes can be checked for noise level legality by reving the nuts off them in 3rd gear with some police equipment stuck to it, is there something similar for mopeds even though they don't have gears?

I've probably heard the little tit, there are plenty of noisy ped's in Harrow.

I can just about understand why someone would want to make their meaty litre bike a bit noisier, but am mystified as to why people would want to advertise the fact they are about 12 and riding a stolen pile of crap that's slower than a tax rebate.

It's a little like the Asian Rude-Bois that ramp up their cack stereos to draw attention to their hand-painted Novas or tacky B&Q mesh grills.

I have an Ariel HS 500cc with a straight through pipe, no one stays in bed down my road when I go to work. Mr. Green

Would you really care that much if it was some guy on a Fireblade with a race can on? Or is it just that by singling out a kid on a moped you can get everybody to agree with you.

You say you rode a 125cc in the past, but thats a bit different to being 16 and riding into school. At that point in my life any noise was a good noise, you just wanted everybody to see you riding into school on your first wheels.
I doubt the average 16yr old is going to appreciate you telling him to change his exhaust, in his mind it probably sounds the business. I'm sure he'll come to realize that he looked like a bit of a penis later in life though.

They didn't make performance exhausts that I knew of for Pasola 50's so I just drilled holes in the back of mine Laughing Thumbs Up

I would care if it was so loud it wakes up the sleeping baby in the flat below who continues to cry for the next 15-20mins!

Perhaps I'm not getting through to everyone just how loud this exhaust is...it's like there's no exhaust fitted at all.
Besides a fireblade would pass in a few seconds & disappear along with the noise, this ped travels so slowly it causes a huge disturbance!
Someone rides past regularly on a Gixxer with a race can which is loud when he/she opens it up but they have the decency not to when they ride past early in the morning or late at night Thumbs Up

I'm not ganging up on a single ped, I just wish he'd show some consideration to those who live around him, the louder the noise, the more people he affects. It's just plain rudeness.
