Hello all! Looking for some advice if possible.

I’ll be heading down to southern France this summer to see family and then on to a wedding near Carcassonne. My itinerary will be
Cherbourg – Biaritz then onto Barcelona over the Pyrenees, then Barcelona to Carcassonne, finally heading back to Cherbourg over a couple of days. I’ve 11 days for the tip, so shouldn’t have to push it too much, although having a few days off with wedding / getting pished etc.

Anyone have suggestions for recommend routes on the way down / or over the Pyrenees? Am thinking of taking a couple of days down to Biaritz so would be meandering down on N roads, and a day or 2 from Biarritz to Barcelona. Fairly flexible with time, and would like to enjoy self. Any recommendations / suggestions most welcome!

Cheers!
Very Happy

You can't go too far wrong with the pyrennes, but I wouldn't go through Andorra. Great road there but it was fairly congested with holiday traffic when I passed through.

although Andorra is great for tax free shopping Wink

Would be worth taking a trip over the Millau bridge, and enjoy rhe motorway from there, south to marseilles..

Yes, a motorway you can enjoy.

it's got hairpins on it Wink

Many thanks for advice and would love to see that m-way (!), however my route southwards is really keeping to the west of France, (Cherbourg to Bayonne), then popping to see a mate in Barcelona over night, then up to a wedding west of Toulouse (which is the farthest East I’ll be I think.) Will then be hoofing it back to Cherbourg so will have to wait for Millau on the next trip… Rolling Eyes Very Happy

Doh! Good point! I meant to say that I'd need to head direct rom Barcelona to Toulouse in a day, and then have to be homeward bound, so won't be able to go further east in France than Toulouse... Confused
