I was just wondering, why do REAL bikers hate people who ride 50cc race replicas such as the Rieju Matrix rs2, or the Aprilia RS50?

I went to look at an RS last night, and have agreed to buy it at the end of the month (for £650), but I have already had quite a bit of stick of people on here for getting one. So I'd like to point out a few things:

1) I don't make the law. If I could ride a 125cc or bigger, I would, but I can't.

2) Practice. I chose a geared bike so that I have a year to learn how to use gears manoeuvring etc. so that when I turn 17 I can get on a 125 and do the A2 test.

3) Looks. The obvious thing - I personally don't like the shape of scooters, and a racing rep or a supermoto are the only real alternatives.

4) Price. Brand new racing rep's are a LOT more expensive than scooters, but second hand they can go for a decent price.

I'm not a chav, I don't intend on racing, breaking the speed limits etc, but why do bikers (who I respect) have such a bad attitude towards 16 year olds who can only ride a 50cc.

Cheers

Mark

I think it's something to do with the "most 50 owners are stupid chavs"

I agree with you on "Its the law, if I could have a bigger bike I would", I my self am going to have to ride a 50cc bike as well , FFS I am capable of riding a 400cc enduro bike ( Had a go of one the other day for 20 mins or so.)

It is a daft system but its the law, no one can change it , grin and bear it lad , just think in a year or to you will be able to have the "big" bike you have always wanted and then you can look down on all the 50 bike owners and think to your self , I used to have one of them , what a t'w'a't I must of looked like.

Ignore it, its just banter, if you have a bike then you are a real biker, think about what makes a biker..........having a bike.

All the time there are 50cc and 125cc bikes about they will get the piss taken out of them, simple.

Now shut up and get a real bike. Razz Mr. Green

I dunno ride round in the right gear, I'm sure people will respect you enough.

I have no respect for chavs on peds in their tracksuits, riding round with their feet up on the front fairing thing, they all do it round here and they are almost always nearly falling over after stopping Rolling Eyes

I see a guy on an rs50 round here, I don't really think anything about it except it must suck to be going 30mph on a race rep Razz

Who are these 'real' bikers you speak of? Confused

Seriously son, you're far too sensitive.

Stop taking everything to heart and learn to give as much banter back. It's fun, and stops you feeling the need to whine to your gal-pals on msn about how everyone is soooooo meeeeeeean to you. Crying or Very sad

Enjoy riding your snazzy moped, use the time to build up your confidence, experience and road sense.

Just avoid posting any 'how do I make my 50cc go faster' threads, and all will be fine. Thumbs Up

There's something amusing about a 14 year old calling a 16 year old "lad" Smile

They live in caves and eat wandering ramblers. They don't shave - they 'chisel' their beard with hard slate scree.

When least expected, they unleash their sadism on mankind, hooning out of their caves on beastly manly 1,000,000cc motorcycles, shaking the very fabric of existance with a deadening roar from their exhaust pipes (which are actually bored out demon horns)

I saw one once. I wish I was one.

No you're not, so shut the fuck up, just because you could operate the gears and ride it without falling off does not mean you are allowed on the road, especially from a 14 year old who has no roadcraft at all.

He knows that he can't ride it on the road, doesn't mean he can't actually ride the bike.

Errr sorry to give you the bad news mate but I think someone sold you a ringer.

The CBR 50 was only made for the Botswana market and that was in '97. Yours has the wrong clutch cover fitted.

Bollocks, he told me that clutch cover was a special mangaleese metal, bet the fucker won't send me the "go faster stripes" either. Should never have bought from a market stall. Rolling Eyes

I just spoke to my dad and he won't give you your money back.

However he's got a limited edition cherry red powerband if you want it.
