I have no idea about the build quality of the bike but its using a 125cc 4 stroke air cooled engine so it can't be that fast compared to the fast 125cc bikes but it actually looks very nice (unlike all the absolute crap I see on eBay everyday) & they are also producing a 200cc version coming out, what do you think about it? I wonder when they'll hit U.K shores (they've already hit U.S ones anyway)?

Generally it doesn't look too bad in the photo's, apart from the mirrors making it look like a bug.

The problem is going to be down to the build quality, not just the way its pt together but the quality of the raw materials.

I think they'd make a good race league for those who can't afford to spend thousands rebuilding Aprilia/ Honda 2 stroke engines, they might not be as fast but they would be pretty cheap to run.

Another decent looking one I found:

P.S: You can always buy after-market mirrors? Very Happy

It doesn't matter how good it looks, it's still going to fall apart after 4 miles. I stopped for a guy stopped on a roundabout and was looking curiously at his rear wheel. Turned out it was a Chinese 125 DT replica style thing. He'd had it a week, and the rear caliper was binding by the sound of it. Rolling Eyes

Buy a CBR125 instead, at least you know it's not going to crap out on you, and you'll get more than £50 when it comes to reselling it.

There's a difference between the two. Both would look better without the kickstart, however...

The Chinese bike will most likely be a pile of poo made from sub-standard parts and will go very slowly. They've obviously tried to make it look good and then whacked a huge kickstart on the side, which looks a crap, in my eyes.

However, the RD500 is more function over form, having been built to go around a track very quickly, so looks aren't as important.

It just seems like the Chinese bike is trying to be something it's not and the kickstart gives it away.

I'm not ant-kickstart Laughing It's just on that bike it looks silly.

Yes you can buy new mirrors but you can't change where they fit.

I'll have one of the last ones just for the weird factor. 150cc's of raw power.

I get the feeling your setting up a dealership and are just looking for business Laughing

All the bikes look crap IMO, ok for once the chinese have made a bike look in proportion, but they had to copy the blade to do it. And as was said before, they'll fall apart within a few miles.

And is it me or does this look photoshopped?

I may be a little off topic here but, I think it's time we stopped patronising the Chinese with our money, and showed British/EU industries that moved production there that we don't want their crap... For me the motives are all wrong, Japan and Germany after WWII fought long and hard to establish themselves economically to restructure their societies and remove the need for foreign aid. This they did through producing a better quality product than the older economies, Britain included. They didn't want world domination they'd already tried and lost, so they created industries they could have national pride in. The Chinese on the other hand don't give a shit and just want everyone's money... oh and possibly to rule the world!

Yes, they are taking over the world by producing 125cc motorbikes! Laughing

On a serious note, this is a world of supply- demand, nothing you say is going to stop it.

Just because it is naked does not make it a fighter, a streetfighter is a concept lost on most people these days, they see a a bike with renthals twin headlamps and no fairing and think ooooo street fighter

Nope, i love the look of the blade, come to think of it i worded my post wrong.

Just the fact they have the cheek to copy its styling, but it still doesn't look right. I mean they're even mimicking the paint job

https://host167.ipowerweb.com/~badazzto/store/catalog/images/phoenix-small.JPG

In the pictures they dont look that bad, but i bet up close in
real life you'll be able to see the cheapness of it. and i for one wouldn't trust it. Thumbs Up

Hi

I have no doubt Chinese industry can produce high quality bikes (along with most other things). Whether any of these are high quality products is another question.

However they do produce things cheaply. Look at the price of electrical goods in Asda for how cheap. Then remember that most of that cost is Asda profits and the costs once it gets to the UK.

Suspect the things that might cause them to improve dramatically is if they start getting taxed on the eventual disposal costs.

£20 on a £100 units lasting 5 years is nothing compared to £20 on a £5 units lasting 6 months before it becomes landfill.

All the best

Keith
