Am I the only person that thinks that male 'opera' singer was miming?

Or am I a proven sceptic?

PS - Oh and the Pig - NO!

If he was he should give some of the so called real singers lesson's in miming.

It'd be pretty easy to set up but I don't think cowell would stand for any shit like that.

This show proves conclusively that Britain has no talent whatsoever.

He was pretty damn good.

Not a bad show as far as reality shows go.

Better than generic music talent shows.

I have no idea, but I'm really glad that the "search for" shows are finishing tonight: Grease, Joseph, Apprentice etc... I doubt it'll mean a return to decent TV but at least I won't have to listen to losers with startling self-belief and no talent. Mr. Green

The Apprentice, is more than a reality show. It's awesome.

And, if ITV had anyone working there who had a knowledge of grammar, it would be called "Britain Has Talent" or "Britons' Have Talent".

"Britain's Got Talent" is a double possessive, and also uses the word 'got' which should only be used in emergencies, being an horrendous word.

I seen those breakdancing guys from Coventry perform at the christmas light switch-on last year.

They are always doing their stuff in the city centre as well.

One day, people will learn not to correct grammar, it opens them up to all sorts of abuse.

For someone that's just been preaching about double possessives, "Britons' Have Talent" is a pretty bad mistake to make. Wink

Edit: Oops, someone beat me!

You use "and also" which is guilty of the same grammatical crime. You should use "which also" or just "and" on its own.

Also, the word "got" is not a horrendous word and has many legitimate uses. For example what is wrong with, "The man got off the bus"?

Although you are right in the case of "Britain's Got Talent", it is possible to use 'has got' correctly. If you follow it with an adjective or adjective statement it's fine. For example, "Grammar has got worse amongst bikers", LOL!!!

But yes, the title should be "Britain Has Talent"

Depends if you're from the UK or the States. In the UK, the old word “gotten” dropped out of use except in such stock phrases as “ill-gotten” and “gotten up,” but in the U.S. it is frequently used as the past participle of “get.”

I'm from the UK so 'got' is fine.

Depends on what company you keep I suppose. I still use it as described above, "Grammar has got worse amongst bikers" sounds a tad clumsy and 'council'.

Different strokes and all that, I suppose.
