Could anyone reccomend a good internet security system thats free on the web? I just got a new computer and have nothing on it at the moment.

google: "avg free edition" (without quotation marks) for free anti-virus that is very good.

Windows Defender, free from MS, is good for other stuff.

"avast! antivirus" ? My parents' PC(Windows Millenium Edition ) didn't have any antivirus soft , so I installed this free soft.

I don't run anything on my pc. Just use common sense. Only every had an issue onece when a forum was hacked. Een then Norton downloaded evrything and needed a format.

oh dear i seen the word trojan and far as i know thats not good. I had 48 infected files two serious ones but if you say avg deals with them great. If not you could be getting another thread from me
