Bloody good race!

Was good to see pedrosa holding his own at the front of the field and not slowing down after a while. Oh and Rossi passing stoner at the end of the straight, wasn't expecting to see that for a while! Shocked

Yeah, but I think that was on the brakes as much as anything. That Ducati is still a lot faster than the Yamaha in a straight line.

I'm pretty amazed that the three of them managed to race within half a second of each other for so long, at such a pace, without someone making a mistake!

Hats off to them all, was a really close race. But I still feel slightly annoyed by the speed the duc has on the straights.

Anyway, we have Donny in a couple of weeks and then some tighter tracks without a 1km+ straight for the ducati to abuse. So the championship is still close.

You have to be pleased with Stoner taking everything Rossi threw at him and not giving up his position. He does have an advantage on the straights but those last few laps were top class motorcycling and Stoner might be one to watch for the future me thinks.

I'm not the biggest Stoner fan, but he did really well to ride such a faultless race with so much pressure for so long.

Rossi was really good as well, it was unbelievable just how late he was having to braking to close up the gap from the straight.

Pedrosa seemed like a force to start with but I felt he could have attempted a few passes on Rossi in the later stages of the race just to put him under a little more pressure, Rossi seemed like he was fairly free to attack Stoner without having to fear Pedrosa slipping past him if he didn't take a defensive line.

Shame about Elias's bike packing up I really want to see him in another battle up front soon, his very entertaining to watch, perhaps not so much so for the guys riding around him though.

The 250 race was pretty boring this week I thought, Lorenzo lead from start to finish and they were all spread out miles apart by the last lap. Its normally the 250's that make the 800's seem boring but not this time.

Bradley Smith seems to have come a long way in a short amount of time in the 125's Cool
Poor old Mattia Passini doesn't seem to be having much luck this season. Laughing

A few times in the last few laps pedrosa put Rossi under some real pressure! And a few times I thought he was past!

It was an amazing race. And I take my hat off to Casey Stoner for his performance.

Well done to RdP aswell, a nice 5th place and a very happy man.

I wonder if people who said last year that Hayden was right to win as he is a champion are noq kicking themselves? I could understand it being bike teething problems if it wasn't for Pedrosa doing so well but come on, Hayden is doing terrible this year!

The title will be changing hands this year and it's still hard to tell who to, my money would be on Stoner so far but after Rossi's come back last year and Pedrosa isn't doing too badly either, who knows!

Well done to Bradley Smith too, not a podium finish but he was top Honda again!

Absolutely. It's not even as if Pedrosa's the only Honda beating him - both Gresini Honda bikes are in front of him in the Championship. And it's not like Honda don't have the biggest budget... It's all very well Hayden being 'good' but he's showing that he struggles to overcome bike problems. Compare it to the problems that Rossi had last year, and he was still challenging at the sharp end.

It's not the first time that a defending champion has been so far off the pace though. In 2001 Kenny Roberts Jr was defending his title and he finished the season in 11th, with 97 points compared to Rossi's 325.

I heard a lot of problems Hayden was having were due to the fact Honda supposodly made the bike around Pedrosa. And Pedrosa being a small guy, meant Hayden was having problems with 'fitting' on the bike.

What has been said is true though. Being a good racer is about overcoming problems and at the moment Hayden isnt doing that.

Hayden has wider fairings than pedrosa so he can fit behind it.

He cannot be happy with his performances this year though. Going from world champ to right down the stats must be depressing.
