Hi there, I'm getting another tattoo done in the near future and need some help finding pics of the styles I like. I know its called 'Tribal' but when I google for pics, I find maybe 1 in every 100 that I like. Maybe there is a name for this particular style of tattoo, Theres some pics below of the ideas I have in mind. Any help much appreciated Thumbs Up

Walk into the tattoo place and say "Give me one of the wiggly tattoos that all the other boys on the estate have." They'll know what you mean.

Has that bloke in the photo got an especially hairy back that has been shaved?

Erm, Ok, But you didnt help me at all, I was wondering if there is a name for that style so I can search and return some pictures that are of intrest to me. And yes, He seems to carry rather a little more hair than your average earthling.

Yes it called,

wait for it

TRIBAL.

Stop looking for designs on the net and go to a free hand tatooist and ask what he can do for you in the way YOU want it done.

Hey, Thanks lol. I know a tattoo artist on a personal level that is working from home now, He does freehand but I am very picky (Obsiously, Its going to be there forever) So I feel as if he would draw me up ideas and I would just say they were shite and waste his time Laughing

Plus I like looking at pictures online.

Yeah, but when you're on the beaches of Mar-bey-yarrrr with your hair slicked back, brown-tinted shades on your head, gold medallion glinting in the greasy sun, resting gently on your rug-clad chest, there ain't nuffin more funny than a thick, black, fuzzy squiggle down your right-hand side, meandering like the sweat through your folds and ripples. Smile

To be fair, you wouldn't be wasting his time by saying you don't like it. I have a few tat's that i picked on impulse off a wall, I don't regret them but I want them all bar two covered up with full sleeve work. If you don't like it, then say you don't like it.
Thats what designs are for.

I have a crappy tattoo done at a cheap local tattooist, its a tribal design and badly colour'd. Eventually im going to have it either coverd up which i dont think possible or redesigned further down my arm, and up onto chest/shoulder. Will probably get some shading effects etc and see what i like. Either that or get a really nice tattoo on my other arm.

Anyway make sure you get one you like and dont go to over the top with it as it does affect what jobs you can get. I had booked to have it re-done before and was going to be around 8 hours work including 2 hours free hand designing for about £400. This was an average of 9 months waiting list time as well, worth waiting and going to somewhere decent.

The style is also known as Celtic. Use that in your search and you'll get some more responses.
