Is it just me - or does anyone else notice that there seem to be more cars than ever on the road with only 1 brake or headlight working ?

I've noticed this seems to have increased as the number of traffic cops have decreased - how often do you hear of someone being stopped for having a light out - I remember it as being quite a common thing years ago.

Good less traffic Cops = less speeding tickets! Not that they dont do a good job when it comes to cleaning up after accidents ect.. I just hate speed traps and to be honest if everyone was getting done for having a light out it would be pretty unfair, pulling them over and telling them to sort it is fair enough though.

I got stopped for one of the tail lights being out not long ago in my friend's van. They gave me a producer.

Although you don't see as many cops as you used to.

FWIW I'd rather have more cops out there who knew what they were doing and dealing with cr@p drivers.

When will the jobsworths (aka accountants, politicians and safety campaigners) realise that cameras aren't the answer! Brick Wall

Not at all, Police can let you off, speed scamera's wont, no two ways about it.

IMO there should be more Traffic division Police on the roads to combat the dreadful driving and riding that has suddenly popped up.

Aye, but they are the answer! To the government's impending bancruptcy problem, that is.

Speed camera's are fair enough in built up busy areas, but a traffic cop hiding down a quiet b road early on a sunday morning with a speed gun is not!

I thought that the good old copper with a speed gun was a dying breed. Takes too much time to pull someone over take the details etc.

Much easier to have a transit van that sits there with one officer and automatically doles out fines.

At least with having real cops on the road they can deal with more than just a single problem and also use some common sense. Camera's don't!

Round here we have cars going around with a complete headlight unit out. Not even a sidelight working. So it looks like a bike in the dark.

Winds me up. Middle Finger

There is no excuse for lights out. I drive for a living and I carry at least one spare bulb of each type with me.

How many of you have seen vehicles with no brake lights and dangerously under-inflated tires?

I've lost count.

Also, there seems to be more and more people using rear fog lights in rain on Motorways which reflect on the wet road and dazzle you.

Bring back proper patrols, not the new virtual policing.

Or over inflated - saw someone putting 60psi in his VW Caddy van's tyres...

What he said.

Although I have felt the long arm of the law for not having a tail light on my DR350S - literally. I knew the light had gone (I'd just set out when it went so turned back), and was stopped at the traffic lights at the end of my road when a copper got out of his car and tapped me on the shoulder...
