Being new to this game, I bought a tank protector and can't get the bugger to stick very well. I have bought a Motrax Rubber Ronnie and I'm on my 2nd one. The middle tends to stick alright but the ends just tend to peel up and off after 5minutes.

How do I get the little bugger to stick down and stay down?? The tank is clean and I have not polished/waxed for well over a month.

Bit of a silly question but it is driving me mad.

Thanks in advance.....

Clean tank with petrol to make sure there's no grease on it. My rubber ronnie stuck fine, but then again my paint is matt. Perhaps some double sided sticky tape?

Hi,

I've never used a tank protector in my life.
I've always used self adhesive clear plastic.

All I do is cut it to the shape i want clean the tank, warm the tank gently with a heat gun then smooth it on.

When it starts too look a bit grubby peel it off then whack on some new ones. Its clean looking does the job and is cheap, a roll costs me around £5 and I can get about 30-35 coverings from it.

Michael.

Ive got a clear motrax one and have never had any problems with it, also by looking at the scratches on the tank protector itself you can really see the benefits. Thumbs Up

Well, Well! lol.
I read this post this morning, and as my carfbon pad was coming off at the edges anyway, thought Id buy new- got the mini ronnie rubber in red and black.
As it turns out that doesnt stick well either, so theyre giving me a new one next week... Crying or Very sad

I heated it with a hairdryer, as they said it makes the sticky part better at gripping. Should i really wash the tank with petty, sounds strange!
