I need to fly up to Glasgow from Luton at the end of the month and back again the next day. Getting to the airport is not a problem (20 mins as the ZZR flies) but I'm unclear on what provisions there are for (Secure) Motorcycle parking at the airport.

Can anone advise please?

Ta,

K.

First link from google search.
Source: https://www.airport-parking-quote.co.uk/airports/luton.htm

Parking: There are three types of parking available at Luton Airport: short-term, mid-term and long-term. The short-term parking lot is located across from the terminal and charges are levied hourly; 6 hours is the maximum length of stay at this facility. Motorcycle parking is free at the short-term car park.

I need to park overnight, so 6 hours of free bike parking in the short term park is not much help. If It's free for any length of time then that'll do nicely.

My bro works at Luton, so i'll ask him.
More than welcome to leave your bike in my garage at Hemel if you like - provided you leave it with the keys in and a full tank of petrol!

Just had a word with me bro he recommends the following:
Short term car park - free parking for bikes without a time limit, no need to pay, just ride around the barrier. There are CCTV cameras overlooking the area, but it is not 'secured' as such.
Staff car park - head under the runway to the car park roundabout, instead of turning right for the short term parking take the 1st exit. Head towards the control tower and there is a staff car park there. Do not park in a car space, park in the corners where other people park bikes/scooters, no permits need to be displayed. Again, covered by CCTV but not 'secure'.
Whichever option you choose, bring a good lock and chain and lock it to something like railings etc.
Or, leave it at my house and i'll check to see whether the rev limiter on your bike is working properly.

Rev limiter? It's the valves I'm worried about.. Wink That and the bolts falling out all over the place.. Smile (well, just the one so far...)

I'm flying out from Birmingham instead and doing a glasgow visit in a day. Birmingham sounds better for parking anyway as there is a specific bike park area by the multi-storey carpark. I'll not have to leave the bike overnight either. Twice as far as luton but still easily doable (especially as the motorways will be clear at 5am Smile ).
