yes, i am poor, and i cant afford lessons.
just need 2 things cleared up that are getting me with the ol confusion stick...

1: when going on a motorway/dual carriageway and taking an exit is it still 'mirror, signal, lifesaver, manouver' just like changing lanes? or am i wrong in the order.

2: when general riding, do you need to do rear observations? or is checking the mirrors ok?

3: slowing down, speeding up and stopping... rear observation? or are mirrors ok?

4: what is the speed limit on main roads?
correct me if im wrong:
residential=30
main roads=50?
dual carriageway with lampposts and walkway=40
NSL=60

5: roundabouts:
mirrors before entering, left lifesaver, look right, enter roundabout, indicate when turning off, both mirrors, lifesaver.
if i do this, will i be doing it right? because this is what i do at the mo.

6: parked cars: going around them:
left observation, left indication, then cancel indicators.
opposite for going back into lane?

please just number 1-6 with yes/no and if no, how do you do it properly? Razz

im bossy in this post, but cheers for the help in advance.

Mirror, shoulder check, signal, maneuvre.

Checking the mirrors is fine.

Again, mirrors are fine.

The NSL is 60 on single carriageway roads and 70 on dual carriageways/motorways. All other speed limits must be expressly signposted and 30 zones can have lampposts take the place of repeater signs.

Sounds about right, but I don't think you need to bother with the mirrors when turning off. Also, indicate as you pass the last exit before the one you intend to take, not as you turn.

Left indication to move right?
You shouldn't indicate when passing a stationary object, unless you are changing lanes in the process.

1 yes
2 mirrors/depends
3 depends
4 nsl 70 dual ,60 single
6 what side of the road are you riding on Confused you don't indicate when overtaking parked cars

this is from what I can recall ,it may not be 100 % !
I would suggest you get at least a couple of hours of lessons just to learn the basics .

When passing a parked car, i dont livfesaver to the left, i lifesaver tho the right.

It seems more commen sense to me, as you will be looking over the right, then moving to the right of the lane to overtake.

Also only indicate on large vehicles, such as busses at bus stops etc.

Then when you have passed the stationary vehicle, left mirror check, left life saver, then move back into your normal lane positioning.

7. If you were taking your test you'd be expected to maintain a central position in your lane and adjust your speed accordingly, i.e. if there are vehicles waiting to turn you may consider easing off to show your acknowledgement of the hazard. If you're riding for yourself or from an advanced perspective you might move to the right of your lane as long as the position didn't compromise your safety. Remember you'll compromise speed, position, priority, everything in fact but not your safety. Thumbs Up

No, that would be a fail.

Re some of your other questions, I seriously think you should invest in a copy of the highway code. Have you done your theory yet?

Err think NOT...... Would you do a lifesaver as well..... Woops you did and hit what you were stopping for....

As to moving out when side roads join a main road, i thed to aim to place my bike where anyone at the junction can see you, so you need to be able to see the driver.... as often there is lumps of road furniture around which can hide a bike. On your test just ease back a bit.
