Too bad I dont have a manual of any kind, otherwise I would be able to do this on my own. A couple of questions with people who have had experience on this bike, or just know about it.

Where the heck is the oil filter? If it is where I think it is, then it is the oddest oil filter I have ever seen. Completely flat, and sits almost flush to the engine at the bottom of the bike. Where can I get these oil filters? Can I use the modern ones??

Also, the spark plugs need to be changed I think. What type do I get? And what should the gapping be?

Argh. What a fantastic bike, but changing/fixing things on this bike can be a headache I think.

Iv seen lots of bikes with this type of filter. The internal ones are usually of the paper form, but it could be a spring and strainer who knows!? Open what your talking about and have a look!
And as for the spark plugs, take them out, check which ones they are, buy them and put them in!

The FX400R is a re-styled GPZ400R I think, so most running-gear parts (and probably all engine parts) will be identical.

or in japanese https://www005.upp.so-net.ne.jp/shamal/fx.sub.htm
that decribes stuff about the bike,
basically saying its a naked gpx or gpz 400 using most parts from those bikes and the same oil filter as the zx4 as well

Hey,

Ive got the GPZ400r (Same as the fx400r more or less) and have the parts catalogue for many of the parts. If you need any part numbers drop me an email and i'll see what numbers i can get for you.

Cheers,
Shaun.
