I've been mulling this for a few hours, what should I put in my letter of resignation?.

I thought about keeping it simple ,

Please accept this as my resignation and my 30 days notice period , I expect that
my last day working for H will be XX July 2007.

Kind regards

But then it sounds a bit cold,

So I thought should I add in some fluffy stuff into it saying I've enjoyed working here and have
learnt many things which is not strictly true since the good thing about H was the staff in that
they are all cept one are great people and are great to work with which is why I'm slightly
sad to go. So I don't burn my potential future bridges etc.

Or will the bosses be pretty angry at me generally anyway namely due to the fact I'm throwing
their transfer back into their faces , and I'm leaving in the middle of an accute staff shortage but
hey maybe you shouldn't cram 6-9 people's worth of work onto me.

And thus keep it simple. semi agitated by the fact that at least 2 other people are also handing in
their notice on Monday.

Should I even think about telling them the company I'm going to since they will find out when
reference letters come in anyway.

Foot notes

#1 one of the bosses (the psycho) has been wearing a forced fake smile and has been extremely
pleasant (forced) to the staff due to the staff shortage.

#2 People in the office have been messing with the minds of the bosses by carrying white envelopes
around the office everywhere which are often mistaken for people handing their notice in, 2 months ago
was kind of amusing after 6 people did it on one day, the fearful look in their eyes is priceless, with a
45% staff shortage things are bad, Monday will see a 55% staff shortage.

#3 my last resignation was fuck this I'm off.......

Any thoughts?

Ta

Do it like you said at the top - formal and factual. Leave all your comments about company/reasons for leaving for your exit interview.

Keep it short and sweet.
I added to mine that i had enjoyed working there, but it was now time to move on.... That was after 30 years....

Never get nasty, as you may need a reference off them one day, and while they may not make it a nasty one, they can imply a enough to put any one off....

As to the exit interview, just tell them in a nice way what they are doing right and what they could do to make things better.

Well its done, handed my notice in today, felt a bit iffy about it with the simple please accept this
as my letter of notice for working with H, I expect that the last day I will work for H will be XX

I feel a little sad since the staff are all great people , but time people and money moves on...

Conveintly the king of H may well be moving to my new company also, which is nice, the boss
was clearly upset/annoyed , its monday and there have been huge losses already.
