Guys,

I'm in urgent need of a hand with changing my chain and sprockets. Basically, i need to get my C&S changed since it constantly needs constant adjustment. I ordered parts from Hein Gericke - got renthal sprockets and Tsubaki chains, but i need a hand fitting them. Would anybody know of any location within NW/N or central london that would fit them for me...

Only problem is that i'd be using the bike Monday - Wednesday (for going to a job interview in exeter), then I MUST have them changed on thursday, so that i can go up to rotherham for another job interview, but with the added piece of mind that i have good running transmission. I know the chain has a tight spot so i've adjusted it to 3cm on the tight spot which causes the opposite side to have 5cm play.

Can anybody give me a hand with this? - i have limited tools to do it myself and i can't be arsed removing the rear wheel and putting it back on again!

Cheers

Titot

You can't be arsed ... well take it to a shop then then and pay for someone to do it.

Hate to tell you but you'll need to take the rear off to change the sprocket!!

Would've helped you out ... but up in sunny Scotland.

Hope you get it sorted Thumbs Up

ride it carefully and change them after? , you have new parts anyway so why not wear the crap out of the old ones anyway (if you are going for a full C&S jobbie anyway) , you'll love exeter, there are many many many riding clans there, but not so many great roads though.

LOL - i forgot to explain whcih is why most ppl on MCNninjas took it the wrong way - when i took my rear wheel off to have a clean of the sprocket and chain, i put the rear wheel back on just as it was getting dark... ALONE! Never a good thing what with spacers popping out and getting the calipers to align with the disks and also for caliper mount to slot into the rail on the swingarm! Just an unnecessarily gash 20 mins just because i didn't have allen bolts to remove the caliper off its mounting bracket.

The only thing i need is an angle grinder and one of those link riveters because i cannot trust myself on a 100bhp bike with a split circlip arrangements!

You can just hacksaw off the old rivet.

I assume the new chain won't have a split link, in which case you'll need someone with the right tool.

Doing c&s is easy if you have the right tool, or it's a split link.
So either stop being a tool, and do it yourself, or take it to a garage, I'd expect about £40-50 to do c&s.

Maybe you'll be lucky enough to find someone to spoon feed you and do it for you, but you'll never learn that way!

I'm gonna be such a twat of a parent I can feel it.
