Drink loads of water, it'll be HOT. Snood soaked in water round your neck can help.

Have a great time Thumbs Up

I do not recommend the camel back and I have one. Last year I went to Spain and believe me, you will not want anything on your back while riding in that sort of heat. It also makes you stop every 50 or so miles to stop for water and a breather.

Also take some tin foil with you to wrap around the water bottle so it stays cool for longer.

All ready to go for tomorrow Very Happy

not sure if l should take my almax series 3 chain or not, the bike handles ok with it in the front tail pack but it is a hell of a lot of extra weight.

If you do take the chain make sure it can't move about at all, I usually take an Oxford Monster and I've experienced that moving about in a corner before, you can feel the bike drop into the corner twice.

Think I might have turned the bike the other way, so when I take it off the centre stand it aint flying towards the fence with all that weight!

Seriously jealous! Go carefully. Thumbs Up

Camping equipment and tools/bike gear are the extra bulk

taking a lighter cheap chain and a disc lock now which is half the weight.

I forgot people go camping. Embarassed

Don't worry too much about getting back to Calais to catch your train (unless you need to get to work the next day and cannot call in sick), as they'll throw you in the next train anyway. I was 1.5 days late and was put in the next train, free of charge.

Make sure your stuff is packed in freezer/carrier bags for the inevitable showers (probably limited to the UK, though). It'll be hot in Spain, though, here's a 10-day forecast for Barcelona.
