Leatt neck brace.

Since seeing this device in June's SB I've been trying to hunt one down. After a good few hours online I've got it down to two of the mid-price ones becoming available here end of this week/early next week, at £450 per item (all the £300 ones are already booked) or £200 for the cheapest one in the US (direct from Leatt), but they want over £100 shipping surcharge, plus there's a 6-week wait.

On top of that, the company making them has cancelled one online seller's account in the USA because he dared to offer it at a discounted price. That's one seller of only two I could find over there.

I'm so hoping somebody knocks out a good quality copy for a shed-load less. The real deals are stupidly expensive and being badly under-produced (safety item, but let's keep supply low and prices high ).

KTM are getting their's in orange, which would be nice as the colour is almost exactly the same as the orange on my Repsol.

Though not being a tart I think I'd prefer the all black.

That's if I could lay my hands on one at all that didn't require more money than a top-end Arai helmet.

That may well be the Leatt one, they are both titled Something MX.

I couldn't actually imagine how it would fit tightly enough to be of use, it obviously doesn't. I'd imagine it's an after thought to flog a few more units for those who can't afford the few hundred for the "Neck" equipt jackets.

I've just found out from the Canadian supplier of the Leatt brace that the reason they won't ship to europe is because Leatt forbid them to.

Pure greed. "We want to make top dollar, and fvck anyone who gets a neck injury from hereonin because they can't get their hands on one of our braces".

I hope somebody bootlegs the product real soon.

i can see the point in them but to be fair, i dont think i could be bothered to wear one, got enough kit to take off when i get home after a ride surley summut like that is only going to extend the horrible sweety period between getting off the bike and into the shower.

plus i dont want to look like a robot, keep them for the track.

I've been talking with the head of marketing at Leatt, but since making a few vague promises about getting me and my mates sorted out with braces I've not heard back in reference to nailing him down on specifics (namely getting them supplied at NA prices).

I'm hoping I'll hear back from him again today with something concrete, but I'm not holding my breath. Sounds like a lot of PR, but zero substance.
