...however, I might be having a mid-life crisis at the same time.

I went out for a look for a touring machine at the weekend. Had a sit on a Honda Varedo in my local Honda dealership, very comfy, pillion seat was really nice for the other half. Think it's a poor mans substitute for a BMW GS Adventure, mind. But I've yet to have a go on one of those (looking at booking a test ride shortly).

But then, I went to my Kawasaki dealership and had a sit on one of these...

On a more serious note, it too, was comfy (like that matters). And it also does 189 miles and hour... Cool Laughing

Hmmm, GTR1400. Thanks for the info.
Saw it at NEC last year and have been waiting.
Only thing I don't like is the big can, gives a sort of lopsided look.

Have to see if they do test rides. The local BMW dealer will let you take a bike out for the day, try with a pillion, make sure it suits. So have to try and get Kawasaki dealer to do the same Very Happy

Northing wrong with a bit of a sporty tourer. I'd rather ride for 3 hours in comfort, arrive and remove panniers and still have a fun bike. Most sports bike riders I know stop every hour for fuel and to get circulation back into their bum, hands, wrists, etc. They used to call it a fag break, except they've stopped smoking Wink

It was teh ZZR I was looking at, but now I've seen the GTR too... hmmm. May hve to go back and have a look at that too. Laughing

Actually that was a CBR600F I was thinking of buying until an '02 model came for less money but ended up owing finance on it... Then decided I wanted a VFR800 instead so am waiting on eBay for a decent example, I'm not in a rush.

I've got an FJR, and I must admit, the GTR 1400 is the most likely replacement currently available.

That being said, I'm not planning on changing the FJR any time soon.

The GTR1400 is a dissapointment in my book.
