Hey everyone,
im new to here so a big hello to everyone first.


i bought a yamaha DT 125 RE a few months ago and she has been running sweet, but this morning the Clutch cable snapped. oops.

i've just ordered a new one but havent got a clue how to fit it, can anyone give me any tips or diagrams on what to do? and about how long will it take?

hope someone can help, cause if i dont fit it tomorrow i dont think my bike will be there on thursday Sad

When you get the new one, disconnect it from the clutch lever and clutch arm and then just trace it back so you know how it should be routed.

Very much so. Make sure you slacken things off at the bars so that you can get the nipples ( oooh-eeerrrrr misses ) into the slots then adjust. just follow the route of the last cable. Sholdn't take more than an hour. Most experienced people take approx 10 mins.

would it be easyer to cut it off at the top (nipple at the handle bar) and bottom (arm thingy nipple) then just pull the whole thing out?

clutch cables are hard to cut!

really, its a very easy job. undo the pivot bolt on the clutch lever and remove it to make it that bit easier.
