SMOKERS!!!

Why is that when someone is happily smoking minding their own business, then someone comes along and says to them

"Have you got a spare cig or can i have a cig or can i have a puff?!"

Now i dont smoke but if someone i didnt know came up to to me and i had a full box of cigs in my hand and asked me for one i would say NO!

But most people i see give the cig to the person asking but very grudingly like they dont want to give them one.

Now cigs are not cheap and if someone came to me asking to have a sip from my can of drink that im half way through drinking i would say no!

Is there some sort of bond between smokers as there is bikers?

Am just really confused!?!

I've never understood that one either, at work I've seen people come in at the start of the day with a full packet of cigarettes, then I hear through the day people asking them for fags, and by the end of the day they've got like two left..

I get asked quite frequently if I have any, or if I have a lighter. Some guy started shouting stuff at me when I told him I didn't have either :/ but then I figured he was a bit drunk..

I think it's because smoking is very much a social habit. Nobody likes a smoke by themselves. <shrug>

This is not a nice thing to admit , but i smoked untill about five weeks ago . i rolled my own and when i was younger it was bensons . i smoked for 20 years. but they told us at work it would be a non smoking site on the 1st of July .
So i packed up {not easy} but now i really hate being in a smokey room .

Its true reformed smokers are the worst .

Depends on whos asking for a fag, if its a chav who scrounges he/she can f*ck of, if its a person under 18 so can they. They arnt bloody cheap thats why i smoke tabacco and turns of people when they ask for a smoke so i dont get asked much.

As for people asking for a smoke, it is horribel to run out of fags and most only ask when there busting for a fag so its a sympathy thing giving them one as you wouldnt like to be out yourself.

Last time this happened I was walking through town, I was stopped by two female chavs probably about 15 years old. Firstly they asked if I'd go into a nearby restaurant and buy them two bottles of rose wine to which I said no.

They noticed I was smoking a cigarette so asked for one of those instead. I shook my head, they then said "Dinnae say you huvnae got any cause yer haudin one there..." I said "Yes, but this one is mine!" Cue barrage of abuse, I just smiled. At the end of the day, I had fags and I was on my way to the pub, two things neither of them could boast.

Its a pet hate, people asking for cigarettes. I get a wee bit annoyed with them. They are expensive, a half mile walk at the wrong time of night along princes street could leave you totally bereft of fags and they're getting on for £6 a packet.

I always say no, or fix them with a disdainful look and shake my head at them. They're as bad as the people that come up begging for 20p cause they're 'short for a bus ticket or phone call...' Evil or Very Mad

I should probably just stop smoking, its a really stupid habit... Rolling Eyes

I saw at a Tobacco Vending machine in a pub the other day that they are £6.50 for a vended packet!

Last April when I was smoking they were £5.50.

If it goes up £1 a year, it's going to become an extremely expensive habit.

Used to annoy the hell out of me when I smoked that did. The best one was sitting outside a pub, my mate wanders off to use their facilities and get more drinks so I sat there smoking. Some chav, probably about 20 something came over and asked for a fag, I said no so he sat down infront of and started to try and act intimidating! After a minute or 2 of being told no he finally gave up when he noticed some blokes on another table looking over and walked off shouting "you tight prick". Rolling Eyes

Used to get kids doing it all the time in a similar fashion, shout obscenities at you when you say no like it's going to make you change your mind.

I buy the boot leg tabacco for £5 for 50g does me ages and no one scrounges it. So i spent about £5 a week on smoking. Not bad. Yes its a bad habbit and i am waiting on an anti smoking speach from someone to arrive shortly but if you cant afford then you should definatly give up i think. Even though we all should butits not easy for all to do.

Back in January, just before we got robbed at work, I was sitting up in the caff next to where we work, checking out some teenage boys who were suspected of being the actual robbers - they had robbed many flats in the area, and as we knew they were very local, we had been given the heads-up that they were in the caff.

They'd been up to our flat the week before, terrorised one of the maids and one girl, but they hadn't got in.

So I thought "I'll go and have a look at these lads, make sure I know who they are just in case they rob us". I went into the caff and sat there with two of the girls and mr hellkat, and we all got a good look at all of them (there were about 9 of them).

As we left, I got in the lift with them all (cos they didn't know who I was at that point), and I stopped outside the shop where the caff is, right next to our wall, to have a fag with one of the girls (who had been terrorized). As we weren't actually anywhere near our flat, they did not know who we were.

When they all came out of the shop behind us, they were shouting to each other about how they had "rolled" our flat last week, and as I was lighting a fag, I thought "Oh did you, you lying little buggers?" so I knew we were targeted for another visit.

But as I lit a fag, one of them stopped to try and ponce one off me.

The girl I was with was terrified, as she had been there when they were running up and down the week before, terrorizing her and the maid.

I just said, "No, mate", and kept smoking, as if to ignore the request. But she was so frightened that they would know who she was and where she was from.

The one who I had said "No" to looked a bit shocked as if to say "But I'm being polite", then one of his friends came back intimidatingly and said "Why not?"

But now my girl was dishing out fags in terror, and I just said, "Cos you don't look as if you are old enough to smoke" - which they accepted, but by then my girlie was giving out fags, so they weren't so fussed that I had refused them.

But at least it meant I got a good look at them ... didn't help much when they did come and rob us the following week, little buggers. Mind you, I heard last week that one of the five who did rob us (and left his palm print, dozy pillock) got three and a half years.

I really REALLY hate fag poncers.

They need to go and get a job like the rest of us who pay for our fags with hard earned cash, not with intimidation.

Throughtout my whole years in school i never smoked a cig or despite every single person around me did, tried weed a few times but it didnt really taste nice, now if it tasted of stawberries then id be a real weed head but as they dont i say no thankyou to weed or cigs!

However i tried a whole cig and a whole menthol cig a month ago and went work the next day and felt like i wouldnt mind a cig so now my resolve is ever more harden that im never going to smoke a cig again ever!

But if they develop a cig which has a nice fruit like pinapple, strawberry, chocolate cig i will become a super chain smoker and sell the bike to fund my habbit but untill then i guess, untill then!

And there is no way on earth would i share a cig that tastes of fruit!!!
