that big supermoto thing? looks ok, but to me the point of a supermoto is to be light and flickable with a decent punch out of bends
i would imagine a thou lump and all the extra support it requires somewhat kills the handling compared to a middleweight sm like a ktm520
would be nice to see when its done though ____________________ previous bike: 2000 Aprilia rs 125 - SOLD

Looks a fair bit like the RSV, not that it's a bad thing. |

Think it looks shite tbh, however if I could buy any upcoming bike that would be it, if the engine works well I reckon it will be a new era in sportsbikes |

Ignoring how it looks (as I often do ), it could be an interesting bike performance-wise. I don't expect it to have a more power or less weight than the latest litre bikes, but I would expect it to match them.
I saw some interview about it a while ago and they said something along the lines of "While the RSV is all any rider /should/ need on the road ..." (which I'd agree with, probably), "We appreciate that some people do want the extra performance of full-powered four cylinder bike".
The RSV-R/Factory (highspec models) have always had a good reputation for being a bike that can go decently fast out of the box for a reasonable price, so it will be interesting to see if we get such a version in four cylinder form.
There's obviously some possibility for making the bike smaller physically with the V4 layout, but then it's not that I've sat on any recent litre bikes and thought they felt that big, really. |

I reckon the design of the engine will be heavily derived from the SXV. I'd expect to see very similar geometry (except for it being double the size lol), and the engine mated to an RSV gearbox.
Should be an interesting bike The SXV destroyed everything it came across racing wise, and the engine appears to be a good 'un, so hopefully the new engine will be pretty good, too.

I'm sure it'll be good, but styling-wise it needs 'curves'. Riding it should be like making love to a beautiful woman, not k9... ____________________ Now - Speed Triple, old ratty GS550, GSXR750M
