Posted: 06:13 - 21 Jun 2007 Post subject: My bike gear is taking over, nooo!! |
 |
|
Just been having a tidy up in my room as I finally got a bookshelf today but don't know where to put it (as you needed to know), and decided to categorise the shite on the floor by chucking all my bike gear on my bed.
After realising I'd picked up everything speed related, I turned around to find a mahoosive unorganised pile of clothing/helmets/accessories. I never knew I had so much stuff!
So after a bit of fancy rearranging, I had organised all my stuff into a neater mess to find it had taken over my bed. Bed today,... tomorrow, THE WORLD!!
All in all, there's...
One set of one piece leathers,
One leather jacket my dad bought when I was 12 and still fits ,
Two pairs of gloves,
Two pairs of boots,
Back protector,
Spare visors,
Helmet bags,
Earplugs,
Thermal stuff,
Anti-fog stuff,
Four helmets!! (HJC CS-10, Caberg Justissimo, Shark S500 Alpha, Arai RX-7 Corsair)
And this is all for one person, for little me. This doesn't even include my dad's riding gear or the various bike parts strewn between the garage and the house ranging from tyres to sprockets to bolloxed front brake levers.
Is it pretty common for bikers to be swamped by their gear? Who else has a shocking amount of stuff, or is the above nothing compared to your own collection?
I apologise if this thread is perceived by some to be boring but it was fairly shocking to see how all this gear had creeped up on me and having no idea I owned so much stuff wanted to know if this was about right, or am I perhaps a bit of a tart?!

Thats just my stuff, my mums is in here as well. ____________________ NC30 + Bandit 6

Other than the two helmets at the back of the group, I actually need all that stuff! Gear for road riding and gear for racing.
Certainly puts my collection in its place! ____________________ The tiger who came for a pint |

Sell it, I'm sure there are some strange people who will buy used women's bike gear online, especially if you market it as sweated in and worn without cleaning! ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. I've spread my kit around the house so it's not that noticeable..
Mind you, consistantly stubbing a toe on a set of panniers for a bike you don't even own anymore when swinging yourself out of bed could test the patience of Ghandi..

I've only had a licence for a month, don't have a bike and gathering dust I have:
1 textile tacket,
3 pairs of textile trousers,
2 helmets, 1 of which is now home to a huge spider.
1 pair of boots
1 neck warmer
2 pairs of gloves
I want a pair of Leathers but not decided on 1 or 2 piece yet. Everyone I ask immediately thinks i'm being gay. |
