Oh dear, Ive only got some bloody woodworm in my kitchen floor!

Noticed it when all this wood dust appeared on the sheet over my bike. Apparently its these bugs hatching out (May -Sept) to breed.

Anyway the plea is - Have any of you ever come across it in your homes and if so have you had it treated, either as a diy job or professional?

Any success stories, advice?

Its quite localised, and has been caused by the dumb bitch who lived here having no venting to her tumble dryer in the cellar ffs! Evil or Very Mad

Only shit is, the bastards can fly! So Im very worried it will spread. Sad

Cheers in advance peeps Wink

Never had the problem personally Fran, but I've heard that the only solution is to burn all of your furniture right now so they don't spread otherwise your house will fall down.

Yes, I've had them.

I used this stuff...

https://www.cuprinol.co.uk/products/woodworm_killer_overview.html

Worked a treat. Thumbs Up BTW, it says "Low Odour" formula... Don't believe that... The stuff stinks to high heaven. Sad and it gives you a huge headache, from the fumes, after a while.

It's a DIY job, but be careful, you need some good masks and gloves. I used Marigolds when I done mine, and the bloody stuff ate through them!!! Shocked Some good "Industrial" gloves is what you need, like the type suitable for petroleum use.

I used an old pump up garden sprayer that my old Grandad gave me, like this... https://www.garden4less.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=4515

Google about a bit for advice, and you'll find that actually they are quite easy to deal with, and the Cuprinol stuff is a "One Off" treatment.

Kills EVERYTHING though, once you've sprayed around and come back after a bit you'll find all manner of bugs/spiders/moths etc all over the place.
