Help with DAS please

What i want to know is what you have to do on the das course and what even a das course and is the test easy?
How much does the das test cost?
If you fail do you have another try without paying anything else?
Is it a course?how many days?
and can you explain what a das course is mostly..

5 days training from 125cc - 500cc normally. Includes theory and full bike test.

Dont think you get a free retry if you fail the test and the test isnt particularly if you get an ok examiner. If you get an arsey one, then its hell. Apparantly, I need to ride in the gutter if I turn left. Or Im not allowed to pull in the clutch when I emergency brake so I topple over once I stop.

If you fail the test, have a look at trying another test centre, I did, did everything the same and passed.

No idea, I taught myself and just took the test without any professional tutoring.

All depends on the bike school

My DAS experience is blogg'd in my signature. Many schools will knock off the cost of your CBT off of the DAS course if you do both with them.

My DAS cost £470 last year, not including theory test. I booked the theory test (£25) through my local bike school with no addiiotnal charge. I also had some coaching off of them to pass the hazard perception test, again at no charge.

I had to rebook my test for reasons explained in my Blog - because the test wasn't cancelled by the testing centre I had to pay full test fee again.

I already have 2 years road experience but I have booked my DAS which includes 3 days trainning + the test which came to £325.

I have just booked my DAS, it will run over 4 days. I have already completed CBT, Theory test, etc so cost is £400. The people I'm using (whi I also did my CBT) are really friendly and tell me that they have pass rate of 95%.

I had one year with CBT on road and booked 5 day DAS at £490.

Late 2005 I did the 5 day DAS, including the theory, CBT, bike hire, insurance, lessons, test (and a free retest if required) - cost £560

Got some amazing instructors, who must have done a good job, cos I went from never having sat on a bike until I did my CBT, but still managed to pass the DAS test 1st time Thumbs Up

Some places do free lessons/tests if you fail, but usually only if you book the full 6 days (inc CBT). Not really worth it if you have prior experience...
