So I finally got around to finishing the derestricting my 2003 NSR. It was a bit of a struggle and I had a few casualties.

3 x drill bits bought and destroyed on the same day
1 x Round file snapped in half after a massive 2 minutes use

It seems clear that I'm not meant for this kind of work but did manage a quick run and it works great. I was shocked at how much difference it makes. My problem is that when I attach the exhaust I cannot get the two rear mounts to line up (see picture, I nicked it from nsr125.com). It's currently about half an inch too far forward. I have tried for about 20 mins now and am bored, HELP ME!

Same problem happened with mine, and another kid I know. Just attach the back screw and leave the middle one out, it should be alright. Mines been like that for a few months now.

To get the rear mounts to line up, you basically just have to push hard Smile.

Get the gasket end etc lined up, preferably with someone else holding the main exhaust, then push on the header pipe at the front curve until the rear lines up.

Cheers lads, I've now managed to get the pillion peg bolt in which is secure enough as far as i'm concerned.

On a seperate issue I'm really liking my NSR without fairings. I used to hate unfaired bikes like badgers hate snake, argh snakes. Should I seek help or are streetfighters ok?
