Last week i broke a toe on the coffee table, its one that has a marble top so i may as well have been kicking a concrete wall. Anyway there was swelling and such, bruising and pain etc

Now i have noticed the toe beside it is swollen, red and itchy.(over a week later when it was fine before) I been to the nurse last week and she said there nothing they can do but the main broken one is ok looking now just sore. Why does the one beside it suddenly after a week look like a balloon, itch and sting.

Broke small toe and possibly one beside it.
I have never broken toes before anyone know?

It just happens like that sometimes Sad

The nurse is right, there's nothing they can do with broken toes. You just have to let them heal naturally. I'd ditch the stillettos for now, if I were you!!

The dam thing didnt even move an inch its so heavy, takes two people to life it and thats with a struggle. I cant even remember what i was doing i just done the silent scream and cursed in mute then i carried on with my day while it got worse. Its no normal stubbed toe as i am the queen of that these are def broken.

Rather painful cycling miles on a bike (motorcycle waiting MOT again) Thats when the swelling in second tow went nuts.

Its perfectly normal for other neighbouring digits to become inflamed or bruised.

I swear that I broke my little toe many months back. I got hit on the foot playing cricket with trainers on that offered no protection. Hurt like buggery, no real discolouration but remained swollen and certainly hurt!

It remained painful for at least 2 months and was aggravated so many times by simple movement. Thats the problem with metatasals, they cant be isolated so they are constantly being moved when walking.

Just remember ERIC

Arrow Elevate
Arrow Rest
Arrow Ice
Arrow Compression

As well as this take NSAIDs and painkillers regularly.

Cue doing all marching, running, jumping, excercising and exercises with a limp!

It turned black and hurt for months afterwoods!

Quite often when people break toes (dependant on the fracture type) they strap the fractured toe to the toe next to it so between the toes get quite sweaty and this is a breeding ground for bacteria which can cause fungal foot infections, just be careful it isnt something like that Thumbs Up

They dont strap them here anymore so there wasnt any point on going to the hospital. Probably calm down soon enough. Little bit tender to walk on but ok . Never had a fungal infection and dont intend to have one, my feet dont sweat for some reason and i dry them right. I pride myself on my non smelling feet Laughing
