Ok, ive known the guy for a while, he has this 1996 Yamaha YZR600, it was wrecked... and he started to rebuild it but decided to sell it like it is.
I will need to put new headlights in, turn signals, and the suspicious part... all new locks.
The guy who had it before supposedly wrecked it, and thought it was done so he just let it sit, and lost the keys.
I have the vin number, if anyone can run a check on it for me just im me at Wierdout420 on AIM, i ran the vin on carfax and it checked out OK.
Anywho, the bike runs like a champ, with the addition of a new clutch (it goes fine like it is) but when you really rev it up and feel the power the clutch sometimes slips a bit under the power.
But, the best part? I will be getting it for just my old Yamaha Warrior 4-wheeler, or 700 dollars... but since i only paid 1000 for the warrior used, im willing to do a straight up traid.
This will be my first sport bike, im 17... and figure a 600 will be a good sized bike to start out with, its fast enough for me to not kill myself (if i had a ton of power, i'd use it... and die), but i also cant get enough of how the bike handles, maybe its just because its the first sport bike ive ridden, but ive never been able to take the turns like i can on this, its just breathtaking.
Anywho, think i should go for it? i had my friends dad look at it and he said i should take the opportunity, considering i could have it on the road for less that 700 dollars, and since i dont ride the 4-wheeler much, i wont miss it.
ALSO, im not posting this for people to say get a different bike, i ride for the love of riding... and unfortunetly i dont have a ton of money, so dont give me the whole "save up and get another bike", its just not realistic. and please dont be offended by this, just at the CLUBGP website i visit (own a grand prix) the n00bs are always getting ragged on for crap heh. |

Welcome to the forum dude.
Most of us are in the UK and so probably can't help with checking the VIN number etc, but if it came out clean when you checked it, then it should be ok.
As for the "title" - I assume that's a document or something that proves someone legally owns the bike? Assuming that the bike was previously registered, you may need the previous owner to apply for a new one first, and then transfer if over to you. But again, I don't know exactly how the system works over there. ____________________ TiN
