Mini moto that is.

I have the choice of getting a 4.2hp ex hire polini one for £500 - basically 9 months old and any broken bits will be replaced.

Or

I have the option of a 6.2hp polini that a guy has had for 9 months and ridden for about 9 hours in total for £750.

They both have the upside and down side, like the ex-hire is cheeper and will of been maintained (I expect). The private buy is more powerful but costs more.

Just don't know which to go for. Neutral

Assuming that you only want it for fun (not racing), then the 4.2hp should be enough...especially if it's gonna save you £250.

I say 6.2 private, if you know he's only been on it for 9 hours, and cant see any marks, its got to be in perfect condition and probably not even run in.

Go for the Ex-hire and you dont know whos binned it or how much of a thrashing its had... Can you actualy thrash anything with only 6.2 bhp? Confused

Well the voices in my head won over the voice in my brain.

The voices said - more power, more power. So the 6.2 one it is. But my brain said HOW MUCH! and then told the guy he can have £700 for my trouble of picking it up (didn't tell him I was only 5 minutes away on business that day, so I'll actually get a £100 for driving to a meeting down there and be able to pick it up. Laughing ) and he duely agreed.

Yay mini moto/broken ribs here I come. Very Happy

6.2bhp should be fun. Is it a racerep paintjob one or what?

A 125 4st like a CG has around 6-8hp... that weighs lots-of KG. A MM weighs about as much as 3 bags of sugar. Hence, thrash everywhere you go and do it very quickly at that. Twisted Evil

That was surely just you throwing them around and crashing wasn't it Ste? Razz Oh hang on why do I have a video clip of a mini moto flying through the air after a small incident I had. Embarassed Laughing

Its not a race rep job or anything like that though I may buy another tank (in black) and make it look like my CBR (just so I can sit there polishing this as well Very Happy ).

Now do I polish the frame on it? Laughing

But as they say - once you go black - you never go back. Laughing

When I travel on business I get 40p per mile, now since this guy lives about 5 miles away from one of our sites down south I've arranged to go to a meeting down there which means I'll get paid for going down there.

Basically a trip to where this guy lives nets me about a £100 (just under by the time I've taken the petrol costs out), which is a £100 I wasn't planning on getting as I wasn't going to go to the meeting. Very Happy

Want a tip... don't paint it black.

Hire bikes are always black, and you want to stand out, not blend in.

Do it shiny silver to match yer helmet Smile

Erm, but surely blending in will be handy when he smashes it to bits? That way, he can pretend that it's a hire bike, and get it repaired for free. Very Happy

True.

But in reality, it means he'll keep getting waved in every x minutes cos they think he's one of 'them'.

Personally, I'd paint it yellow. Cool
