basically, lets you ride any bike of any power.
you must be over 21.

I used to always say "Direct access summat or other", then i was told the AS stands for Access... Very Happy

Its Direct Access Scheme...

Thats what I was told Very Happy
Its usually a course over 3 to 5 days including your CBT if you haven't already passed it, then a test at the end of your course so longs your instructor thinks your ready.

The test is on a 500cc bike or over and you have to be 21 yrs or older. If you pass you can then ride any motorbike you choose Smile

Scheme indeed. In other words its how I got to be riding a 600 hornet lwith less than 20 hours lifetime riding experience. And the silly thing is that I could have been riding a Busa or an R1 instead... (I'm nearly a year down the road now, and still on a hornet though Smile)

I refer to it as direct access course, but meh.

over 21's for wanting a big bike, fast.
