i live in small village , and ride 25 year old honda cb 250 rs . got up this morning to find cover off and bike lying on its side . it was chined to sturdy railings by a lock and chain bought from aldi for £10 . thaks aldi you saved my pride and joy from bastard thieving scum .

The Aldi chain defeated an opportunist but would have would have yielded quickly to professional efforts.

Most chains yield quickly to professional efforts. If it was the dog's bollocks chain, they would cut the railings instead.

Maybe they didn't damage the chain because thats what they wanted - if they could've worked out how to remove the doggy honda attached to it.

I got one of them chains, tis good enough.

If you look at the almax vids on youtube, they show you all the top chains getting wrecked, one oxford one lasted only 15 seconds, and that cost nearly 200 notes, why bother paying that for a chain that lasts 15 seconds with bolt croppers?

Thing is i've never heard of an Oxford Monster costing £200, I bought mine for £40 about 5years ago. And i'm still dubious about Almax chains for various reasons, but mainly the fact all chains including Monsters claimed to be bolt cropper proof (not resistant), almax claim the same, whats to say in a couple of years someone won't show that an almax can be cropped, or frozen and shattered. The videos on youtube are all made by almax and another one that show's someone with an angle grinder could be them aswell, they wouldn't let me try and crop one when I asked.

A battery-powered angle-grinder fitted with a 2mm thick stainless-cutting blade will cut through any chain, and any padlock loop or D-lock that you could get the blade onto. If they want it, they will take it.
