Alright Lads..i have got a 50cc Speedfight 2 X-Team... i have a standard exhaust on..the bike is just fully deristricted.. i can hit 45mph on flat... so i was wondering when my leo vince zx exhaust comes and i put the rollers and clutch springs in....what do you think i should get out of it then?

All replies will be appreciated

46mph

you realise that your speedo isnt even close to correct
soon as you get above 20 it starts lying.
you are probably on doing 35-40 when it says 45

Theres a lot of talk about scooter speedos being out. And yes its true. 50cc's are only tested to 30mph. So they are accurate to 30mph.

From then the faster you go the more inaccurate they get.

But anyway. Stiffer clutch springs will give you no more top end speed. Rollers are just for acceleration, depending on the riders weight and scooter performance. So the rollers that come with the Leo Vince wont give you anymore top end, but will just help your scooters gearing cope with the added power from the new exhaust.

The exhaust will give you a bit more acceleration, and 3-5mph on top end.
But I wouldnt of reccomended a Leo Vince. The port timings of them dont go well with the Speedfights. Yasuni C16, or Laser X-Pro are much better... But the Leo will still give a good performance boost

I havent yet paid for the exhaust or signed any contract so i dont have to go ahead with the exhaust if i dont want to...i dont really want to spend £120 on a laser X_pro exhaust..are there any other ones??? also im not sure wether my bike is deristricted in all places...im not a mechanic so for me where is the best place to check??

And is there any other way i can get my scooter to do about 55mph like my m8s on sr50`s and ay50`s ??

Im fed up of not keeping up with them..would be great to stay with them..Cheers

How much were you going to pay for your technigas?

A cheap alternative is an Endy pipe, from PM tuning. Thats £80, and quite good.

The only restrictors are on the exhaust, and variator.

Exhaust is a pipe with a dead end coming off it.
The other can be seen by taking the tranny cover off, and looking at the variator. If the belt line (mark made by the belt) is nearly at the top then it will be derizzed. If it only goes about halfway it probably isnt

It was a leo vince m8.... and it was £75

Did you mean that the tehnigas ones dont go well with the speedfights then??

or did u just write technigas instead of leo vince on the last post by mistake m8?

Both equally bad. Sorry. I just remembered that you said a poor exhaust... and said that one.

If your paying that price, then the money would be much better spent on an endy.

Endys look much better aswell

Is it AC or LC?
The restrictors are in the exhaust - a pipe going no where with a dead end. Easily noticable. If its been cut off and welded over then its deresctricted.
The other is in the variator (automatic gears) - the real way to see this is to take the variator off, but that requires specialist tools. But you can look at it and see how far the belt has been up it. If the belt line only goes halfway it is probably restricted, if it goes nearly all the way to the top then it is derestricted.

There are many ways to tune 2strokes. All depends on how much you want to spend.
On mine I have:
Stage 6 70 kit
Laser X-Pro ehaust
19mm Carb
Malossi Variator
Gear up kit

And theres still more to do.
The most popular is an exhaust. I prefer 70kits as a starter though. But they involve more knowlage to fit.

For more help on scooters and tuning go on www.pug-club.co.uk
Its a forum for owners of peugeot scooters. Start a topic in 'Introduce Yourself' saying I reccomended you (boiboi), then I know its you and can help you on there. Wink

To be honest, not the best engine to tune, if it was a piaggio/gilera engine, or a minarelli, you wouldnt have to do much at all. As for your exhaust, id say, dont bother, get a 70 kit, theyre usually around 100-150 for a semi decent one, and they give the best power increase.

I'm not being a dick, but is it really worth spending any money at all on modifying a scoot? Why not just save it and get a bike, which will be faster, handle better and probably have a more tunable engine.

2 Strokes are much more tunable than 4 strokes.

But being a 50 obviously it still ends up with a crap amount of power.
I do it just for fun. Its easy to tune 2 strokes. And there isnt a part on them you cant modify for a bit of extra power.

Piaggio engines are much higher reving that peugeot. You can fit a Piaggio engine in a peugeot quite easily with a kit made by Stage6. But thats if you want to spend a lot, and are REALLY after the power.

Its a common question i got asked when I fitted a 70cc kit and a few other bits and bobs to my scooter last year.
Quite a few of the older people at college took the piss because it was a scooter but after i let them have a go, they all came back with a smile on their faces.

If you've never expirienced a tuned scooter you've missed out on a laugh imoh.
Belive it or not I could powerslide roundabouts on it Mr. Green
