to streetfighter or not to streetfighter

well i was thinking that i might decide to streetfighter my 400, after all the fairing is looking a bit worse for wear after almost 20 years.
i know it would look pretty good with the separate headlights and i could fit an under tray thingy on it. im just wondering what your thoughts were on it.

I made a right old mess of my fairing a while back. Fightering it was basically the only way for me to go.

Makes its feel like a totally different bike. Quite fun new bike without buying another one.

Renthal bars and away we go!

It looks pretty neat as it is, I was goin' to fighter an NC30 but the rear end, frame and engine look pretty ugly bare. Also the top yoke is really weak and there aren't replacement yokes for them (As far as I know) So unless you're willing to risk drilling it motox bars are out of the question.

I'd keep it as it is looks nice!

Whatever you do, if you do fighter it make sure you keep the plastics.

You can put them back on if / when you want to sell it, or if you manage to sell it as a fighter, you can sell the plastics on Ebay for a bit of cash too.

Plastics are worth money, even in bad condition.

well thanks for the advice.
i think in any case mudskipper may be right, it is a classic and if i do sell it people have to expect it to have a few marks on it, after all its 20 years old next year

If it's looking tatty but rides ok, save up and get it sprayed one winter. Seems a shame to cock around with a standard bike.
