My CBT ran out awhile ago now and with the new laws coming in late '08 I think it's time I got my full test out of the way (like many others Razz

).

I'm 19, and believe I need to pass an A2 test to get rid of L plates and ride 33HP for 2 years.

Do bike schools do week or maybe 2 week long courses including CBT, lessons and then test? and I suppose It's best I get my theory out of the way beforehand or is that included?

So for the 1-2 week course including bike and gear hire whats the average just to give me some idea (don't say ring around, just looking for an average Thumbs Up

)

Don't fancy waiting until I'm 21 because I'm sure Direct Access would have changed by then!

Any help appreciated!

I think I depends on the rider and the School Mate. I did a 3 day course including the test, (not cbt or theory, all ready had that) my wife did a 5 day course again with out the CBT and Theory. We both passed first attempt.

I booked my Theory test through mine and as soon as I had it got myself booked onto DAS

The course and test for the resticted licence is exactly the same as for DAS with the exception that you will be on a 125cc bike rather than a 500.

Many schools will do a CBT as part of the course and some will even knock the price of it off of the Cost of the course if you do both with them.

Budget about £400 - £450.

Personally I think its not a bad idea for you to go for it now before the offraod sections get added, the theory test becomes harder and the age limit for DAS gets raised to 25.

did my A2 this year m8 i would get your theory done first then as you've already been riding on a cbt you probably only need a 4 day course day one cbt days 2 and 3 125 training getting you up to test standard and day 4 your test
i had been riding a125 for 18 months so still had 6 months cbt left when i did my test and done a 3 day course days 1 and 2 riding with instructor getting me up to test standard and day 3 test passed with one minor
