Yeah they stopped making them- as far as I know the only sports 400 still in production is the Kawasaki ZXR400.

Oh wait- maybe thats just the only one still sold officially in the UK. Anyone??

Yep, all 400cc sports bikes in this country are imports. The ZXR is an official import, made in the land of the rising sun and officially sold by Kawasaki over here. The rest are grey imports, apart from some vfr400's which were very briefly an official import at one point.

£2800 for one with nothing more then a scratched side panel and tiny crack on the fairing.

is it sold "as is"?...or will they offer some sort of warranty?...if they'll do warranty, then it sounds pretty good, otherwise...hmm...a damaged fairing means some sort of crash, and there could some mechanical/structural damage underneath...a warrantied bike comes will a full initial service, and a guarantee that you can return to the dealer and shout at them if something goes wrong...

As for the "RVF or VFR" question: well, why get a bike that you don't really want?...some people like the "retro" look of the VFR (the headlights), but others (like you and me) don't!...they'll both be as reliable/fun/fast/etc.. as each other, but I'd prefer to be seen riding an RVF than VFR (no offence to all you VFR owners!)...

Bargain Basement - Search

Need a cheap bike? Winter Hack? Project Bike? Track day bike? Dispatch bike? Classic Japanese bike? First bike? Second bike? You've come to the right place!!

In our Bargain Basement we sell bikes "AS IS", meaning no warranty, unserviced and "sold as seen". The majority of bikes have some cosmetic damage, some are very nice and some are "rough", some are old Japanese classics with alot of life still in them.
These bikes are for the biker who does not mind getting his hands dirty. If you know ( or have a mate who knows ) how to change plugs, oil and oil filter and get a bike ready for MOT, then the basement is the place for you!

Thats what the website says. So no warranty or anything. I dont think spending nearly 3 grand on something is a good idea without a warranty
