CBR600f4 or f4i

Hi all
New to the forum and would like some help picking the right cbr if pos plz.

Seen this cbr600f4i and fell in love but dont know which to get, the f4 or the f4i.

Well, I have the F4, which is the carbed version, the F4i, obviously then is injected. I've never ridden, or even see the F4i, so I can't comment on that, but the F4 is a brilliant all round machine. You can get plenty of miles under your belt without having to worry about comfort, the seat is huge! It will also keep you up with most other sportier bikes, as not many people can actually use 100% of the performance available. Good reliable machine, only thing I've had a problem with that was the bikes fault has been, the regulator/rectifier and the temp sensor fan switch on the radiator. Easy bike to get parts for, and easy to work on. I can't say enough about it. Perhaps a bit bigger and heavier than newer bikes, but it just makes it feel more secure on it. I've had two bad offs, and the frame/sub frame and engine haven't even noticed, and getting replacement parts, fairings levers etc has never been a problem.

I have an F4 (Called Fx or FY) in the UK

The F4i or Fsport, is the first of the injected models and has a different seat unit, it is a bit sharper, and less comfortable.

My Fy has been fairly faultless despite little or no maintenace, and I commute daily through central london, and have done a few trackdays, and crashed a few times.

I did need a new reg/rec and this was easily obtained for about £40. There is a common problem with the F4/FY which I don;t know if it carried over to the Injected models, and that is the cam chain tensioner, it can rattle and despite not doing any damage can be really irritating, they get replaced and new ones can start rattling again within a few thousand miles.

I remember Fazed on here, had an Fsport perhaps he will pop in and comment from the other side.

I've not ridden an injected one, but the quoted power and such is just the same as the carbed (which I've had for years) so I'd go for the best deal / colour scheme you like best.

The Fsport looks a bit different (the seat unit) and is sharper in stock trim, but don't forget they all come with fully adjustable suspension so you can sharpen up a 4 or a 4i to be just as good.

Downgeared the hell outta mine, got the suspension set up properly... kept me amused for years!

I have an FSport and have riden it through all weathers for fun and commuting for over a year (that a lot of miles!).

So far I have had no problems (*touches wood!*). The seat can start to ache after an hour or so but stopping for a fuel stop is enough to relax again.

The power delivery is very smooth and I have found it a great bike to improve on, the bike is still much better than I am.

The bike is easy to work on and as you would expect from a Honda the finish is excellent.
